*9th June Patient Update* – System Outage from Friday 5th June
We would like to thank all of our patients for their understanding following the system outage that affected the practice on Friday 5th June.
We appreciate that incidents of this nature can be frustrating. The outage resulted from a technical failure affecting systems used by the practice, and since Friday we have been working closely with the relevant support teams to investigate the cause, restore normal service and minimise any impact on patient care. We are grateful for the patience and support shown by our patients as we continue this work and address the backlog created by the disruption.
Our investigation has identified a short period between approximately 10:00am and 12:00pm on Friday 5th June during which some new GP and nurse appointments booked in person at our reception desk may not have been recorded correctly.
If you telephoned the surgery during this time, there is no need for concern. We have successfully recovered these appointments and no action is required.
However, if you booked an appointment in person at our reception desk between 10:00am and 12:00pm on Friday 5th June, we would ask that you contact the surgery so that we can confirm your appointment has been recorded correctly.
Please note that this request applies only to appointments booked in person during this specific time period. Patients who booked appointments at any other time, or by any other method, do not need to contact the surgery.
No other appointments have been affected, and there is no cause for concern. We would also like to reassure patients that there has been no data breach, and patient information has remained secure throughout this incident.
Thank you again for your patience, understanding and support while we complete our review of the outage and work through the remaining backlog.
The Practice Team, Roslin Medical Practice.
