Hair loss is more than just hair. 🤍

For some people, alopecia areata can have a significant impact on confidence and wellbeing — something we recognise at Beautyjabs.

We first introduced our Hair Loss Support Initiative several years ago back in 2020 and with the increasing interest in our PRP hair treatments, we wanted to bring attention to it again.

The initiative can include suitable areas of scalp and facial hair loss, following an individual consultation and assessment.

PRP uses components of your own blood, including platelets, and is used with the aim of supporting the hair-growth environment. However, alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition and PRP is not suitable for everyone nor a guaranteed treatment. Results vary, and in some cases we may recommend medical or specialist assessment before proceeding.

Our aim is simple: to make treatment a little more accessible to suitable clients living with this condition. 🤍

Skin boosters: sometimes subtle, sometimes surprisingly visible 💧

One of the things I always explain to my clients is that skin-boosting treatments don’t look the same on everyone.

In younger clients, where there may be little visible laxity or deterioration in skin quality to begin with, the changes can be much more subtle -improved hydration, skin quality and perhaps that lovely healthy-looking glow. Treatments such as Profhilo are designed to support skin quality and tissue remodelling rather than simply add volume.

In the right patient, however, the improvement can be much more noticeable.

This lovely client of ours is a great example. Swipe through to see her skin before treatment, at 2 weeks and at 4 weeks. Her improvement developed gradually, particularly in the texture and appearance of laxity around the lower face.

📸 And this is where photographs can be slightly misleading.
Profhilo isn’t a traditional volumising treatment, so we’re not necessarily looking for a dramatic change in facial shape. We’re looking at the skin itself- its hydration, texture, elasticity and overall quality. These changes can sometimes be much more apparent in person than they are in photographs.

There are also different products and injection techniques within the wider skin-booster/bioremodelling category. At Beautyjabs, we choose an approach according to your skin, your concerns and what we’re actually trying to achieve rather than treating everybody in exactly the same way.

For appropriately selected clients, skin boosters can also be a lovely option for those who want to work on their skin but aren’t looking for anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers.

✨ Subtle for some. More visible for others. The goal is better-quality skin -not a different face.

Results vary between individuals. All injectable treatments require consultation and carry potential risks.

Why is everyone suddenly spraying hypochlorous acid on their face? 👀💦

If HOCl seems to have appeared everywhere overnight, you’re not imagining it.

But unlike quite a few skincare trends, this one actually has some interesting science behind it.

Hypochlorous acid is a molecule naturally produced by our immune system and has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. In appropriately formulated skincare products, it can be a useful addition for irritated, blemish-prone or sensitive skin -and it’s particularly handy after a sweaty gym session when cleansing isn’t immediately possible.

But here’s the bit social media sometimes forgets…

It isn’t going to exfoliate your skin, stimulate collagen, erase pigmentation or magically make your pores disappear. ☹️

Think of HOCl as a helpful supporting character in your skincare routine-not the main character.

And please… we’re talking about properly formulated hypochlorous acid products intended for skin. Not household bleach. 😭

So, is it worth the hype?
For the right skin and the right reason, it can be.
Does everybody need it? No.

Subtle changes. Beautiful definition. ✨

Before & after one Sculptra treatment for our lovely client, photographed 6 weeks apart.

Our main focus was the loss of volume and definition around the lower face and jawline, with the aim of gradually restoring structure while keeping the result completely natural.

She is currently midway through her recommended course of 3 treatments, so these are still early results -with further collagen stimulation and improvement expected as her treatment plan progresses.

Sculptra works differently to traditional dermal filler, stimulating your own collagen production gradually for results that develop over time.

We did end up stopping by with the lovely Romina to 👀 what’s new. Exosomes and PRP are everywhere and despite the controversy they’re going strong

Regenerative medicine was a big theme. Sat through some interesting talks and medical demonstrations on very familiar treatments which I am still to talk about oh and Romina did end up with an interesting electromagnetic massage (as you do).

Our lovely client wanted a more defined side profile for a special event ✨

We used subtle jawline dermal filler to enhance structure and soften the appearance of fullness under the chin-creating a more sculpted and balanced look.

This is a beautiful improvement, and we’ll continue her journey with further refinement (with lipolysis injections) in future treatments.
