This World Mental Health Day, we’re asking “where is your attention?”

Your attention is one of your most valuable commodities. Did you dwell on the bus you missed? The call that went badly. The thing you forgot. Our pesky brains are very good at spotting what went wrong!

But did you notice the sunlight that made you blink? The birdsong somewhere in the distance - under the wailing siren? The branch dancing like a raver above your head? The tenacious purple flower pushing up through a crack in the pavement?

Those are the things we nerd out on during a ParkBathe walk.

We slow down enough for the mind to stop constantly looking for trouble and start noticing what is good, beautiful and weirdly lovely around us.

Come along and widen your view. 💚
Join our (award-winning !) team at West Harrow Park this Saturday 10th October at 11am for a free, gentle, peer-led forest bathing walk.

Meet at Syd’s Pizzeria or book your place in advance via linktr.ee/parkbathe

DID YOU KNOW? ParkBathe Mindful Walks is in Grangewood park🎉💚🦋🌳🐞🍃

If you haven’t seen us there yet - hello!

If you’re new here…we guide free Forest bathing walks in parks for local folk to slow down and reconnect with nature 🌿

A ParkBathe is much more than a walk in the park. It’s not a walk-and-talk and you’re not getting your steps in.

Something happens about 20 minutes in…

Shoulders drop, folk start to really look around them as everyone relaxes.

One person might spot a tiny mushroom or a patch of sunlight on bark, and there’s a ripple of curiosity.

Because, the thing is, slowing down enough to see the world around you helps you reconnect with nature - and with yourself.

And that’s why:

🌳 97% of our participants leave feeling more relaxed.

🌳 our study saw a 40% reduction in anxiety after a one hour walk.

🌳 40% of people come back again and again. Some come 45 times a year!

🌳 we were just voted “volunteer team of the year”.

🌳 900+ people each year come on our walks that run in 14 parks throughout five boroughs.

And you lucky people have got your very own Parkbathe in Grangewood Park!

AND we have a session tomorrow !

ParkBathe at Grangewood Park, Sat 3rd October at 11am 🌳

Spend one sensory hour in nature with us and be slow like a snail 🐌

Book free via https://linktr.ee/parkbathe or meet Kelly and Janet by the Ross Road and Whancliffe park entrance 5 min before 🌳💚

This week we are launching a new idea..

Well, not new exactly as we’ve had people self referring to ParkBathe walks to manage bereavement journeys for the last four years…

They have told us that grief sits in the body, that it can feel like a pressure cooker and that our gentle, sensory walks help release that sense of “holding”…

These two sessions take all of our learnings into one project.

Because loss can mean many things.

It might be the bereavement of someone you love. It might be the loss of health, independence, identity, a relationship, a role or simply life as you once knew it.

Our welcoming ParkBathe Loss Walks offer space to slow down, breathe and spend time in nature with others who may also be navigating change or loss.

We’ll take a slow, guided forest-bathing walk through South Norwood Country Park, followed by refreshments at the kiosk and time for reflection and compassionate conversation.

This isn’t a therapy session. It’s simply a supportive space to be outside, connect with nature and be with others.

Two free sessions: South Norwood Country Park on 17th October & 14th November, meeting at 11am 💚

Please share or refer as appropriate. Book via https://lnkd.in/ezyfkbkX or message us.

LET GO. LET’S SLOW. 🌿

We talk a lot about being busy.
But we don’t talk about how FAST we move through life.

When do you actually slow down, apart from when you’re asleep? 💤

Even on the sofa, we’re watching, scrolling, thinking, planning. Still doing.

After a ParkBathe walk, we are often told:

“I didn’t what slowing down felt like. Now I know - I want more.”

Because slowing down can be addictive too.

An hour to stop rushing. Come back to your senses. Notice where you are.

Join us at MHA The Wildernesson Monday 28th September at 11am.
