This Week on Charcoal Croissant

Monday — Nobody Told the Trees It Was Monday
We give our days names, then add everything we think those names mean. Outside, it's simply another morning.

Wednesday — Singing in the Rain
The same rain can ruin one person's day and make another person's. The rain hasn't changed. Our experience of it has.

Friday — Louder Than Words
Talking about love is one thing. Living that love is another. Sometimes the smallest action says far more than the biggest declaration.

Three little reflections for the week ahead.

Life moves quickly.

Weeks become months.

Months become years.

Before we know it, we're wondering where the time has gone and whether we're still moving in the direction we truly want to go.

That's why I've created RESET.

Think of it as a checkpoint.

A day to pause.

A day to reflect.

A day to learn.

A day to reconnect with yourself and your meditation practice.

A day to take stock of where you are, what's working well, what you'd like more of, and where you'd like to grow.

Through meditation, discussion, reflection, learning, and community, RESET creates the space to step back from everyday life and move forward with greater clarity and purpose.

Our next RESET (US Time) Saturday 29th August and RESET (UK Time) 26th September

Reflections from the week.

These are the thoughts I've been sharing most evenings in my Instagram Stories- short reflections to pause, think, and perhaps see life a little differently.

Which one resonates with you the most?

🥾🐚 CAMINO 2027 – Walking & Meditation Week

I'm still very much enjoying my August downtime... resting, meditating, sleeping, eating well, swimming, getting back into shape and walking plenty. I'm really enjoying having the space to recharge.

But whilst having that downtime, I'm also naturally starting to think about the months ahead and some of the things we have to look forward to.

One of those is the Camino.

Our Camino earlier this year was hugely successful, and next April/May 2027 we're planning to do it all again... a week of walking, meditation, reflection and experiencing the Camino together.

Exact dates are still to be confirmed.

We already have around 30 people interested, and with numbers continuing to grow, we may actually run two separate Camino weeks, potentially taking two different routes into Santiago.

One of our community also recently informed me that 2027 happens to be a particularly special year to walk the Camino.

It's a Jacobean Holy Year, which only occurs when the Feast Day of St James, 25 July, falls on a Sunday. The Holy Door of Santiago Cathedral is opened, and there will be special celebrations and events connected with the Camino throughout the year.

Our WhatsApp group will start becoming much more active from September onwards. We'll begin sharing training schedules, preparation, what to bring, travel information and everything else we'll need as we gradually build towards the walk.

For now, though, I'm still enjoying the rest! 😄

If the Camino sounds like something you'd love to be part of, let me know and we can start adding more people to the WhatsApp community from September.

This Week on Charcoal Croissant

Monday — You Hear Every Word
We notice what others say to us, but what about the words we say to ourselves? We hear those too. Perhaps we can make them a little kinder.

Wednesday — When We See More Clearly
Sometimes our reaction makes perfect sense based on what we think we know. When we see the situation differently, we may find we can respond differently too.

Friday — I Was Still Afraid
Courage doesn't always mean the fear disappeared. Sometimes the fear was still there — and we did it anyway.

Three little reflections for the week ahead.

17/08/2026

August has been a wonderful reminder of the importance of simply slowing down.

I've deliberately taken much of the month off. No courses, no rushing.

I've still maintained my morning and evening meditation commitments, and my commitments to the people I've taught, but otherwise I've given myself some real space.

Lots of swimming, long walks, meditation, naps, good sleep, juicing, working out and simply taking life a little easier.

It's been beautiful.

I feel incredibly refreshed, relaxed and energised, and I'm really looking forward to September and getting back to teaching again.

But I'm not wishing this time away either.

I'm enjoying where I am right now and remembering that sometimes doing less gives us the space we need to come back with more.

This Week on Charcoal Croissant

Monday
The Compliment You Couldn't Take
Why can one criticism stay with us for days, while a compliment is dismissed in seconds? Maybe next time, we simply say, “Thank you.”

Wednesday
Be Even Kinder
When someone gets under our skin, the temptation is to give back what we're receiving. But we still get to choose what we pass on.

Friday
You Don't Have to Finish Every Thought
Not every thought needs explaining, understanding or following. Some thoughts simply go nowhere — and perhaps we don't need to mind that they do.

Three little reflections to sit with this week.
