September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month, and in our continuing support for education and awareness on the topic, we will be holding an education event for our local GPs.

Join us for a webinar on Thursday, 17 September with Ms Tilottama Nandy [tag], Consultant Gynaecologist.

Ms Nandy will discuss exactly when to trigger the Urgent Suspicion of Cancer Pathway (USCP) in primary care. This is an insightful session to sharpen your risk stratification skills, safely reduce your referral anxiety, and ensure your patients get the right care at the right time.

Ms Nandy is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Hadley Wood Hospital, High Barnet, part of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. . She has special interests in gynaecological cancer diagnostics, cervical and vulval disease management and ambulatory gynaecology.

We are proud to announce that our RFL PPU Head Chef Vivek and Chef Silva have won the London Heat for Chef of the Year 2026 held at the University of West London. The competition saw exceptionally high-calibre chefs within the NHS and showcased creativity, craftsmanship, and commitment to excellence. They will now advance to the national finals and compete in Birmingham in October.

We are incredibly thankful to the team behind the recent Royal Free Hospital Neuroendocrine Tumour (NET) Masterclass 2026. We heard great discussions and new insights from experts. Our leading consultants at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust presented engaging discussions on surgical treatments for NETs, including early detection and management, minimally invasive robotic-assisted procedures, and clinical decision-making for local and radical treatments. A session was also dedicated to discussing NETs in elderly patients, in children, and during pregnancy, led by Prof Caplin and guest speakers from the Royal Marsden and King's College, Dr Harini Rao and Prof Raj Srirajaskanthan.

A huge thank you to all colleagues from Primary Care in North and Central London who attended the GP session, where we addressed the early signs of neuroendocrine cancer, current management strategies, and emerging treatment approaches.

David Crampsey, Chief Executive of the Royal Free Hospital, and Prof Christos Toumpanakis also gave an encouraging message. Prof Toumpanakis emphasised the promising future of care and the value of these gatherings. It was inspiring to see so many clinicians united for a shared purpose. We are hugely proud to have supported this important event.
