This week it is Carers' Week. The annual campaign highlights the vital contributions of the UK’s 5.8 million unpaid carers and calls for better recognition and support.

Since 2005, Oakhaven Hospice has held regular respite days for carers who are supporting Oakhaven patients. Our aim is to provide time just for carers to enjoy a relaxed and calming atmosphere, to meet others, and to find guidance and support.

If you are caring for someone, find guidance and signposting at:

Many thanks to the Oakhaven Kitchen for making such a delicious afternoon tea for our Volunteer Parties last week - and also to New Forest Fruit Company for donating the yummy strawberries!

We simply wouldn't be able to provide the services we do without their support and help of our Volunteers. Thank you!

"Oakhaven gave us something priceless - time and space to be together"

At Oakhaven, we focus on what truly matters to each individual. Our nurses are there every step of the way, helping patients to stay at home where they can be surrounded by love and comfort, or to come into our Inpatient Unit for specialist support. Managing pain, creating the space for families to talk, to laugh and to make precious memories together. Sometimes it's simply about being there - listening, reassuring, and ensuring no one feels alone.

Can you help us to care for local patients and their families this year?

Our care is provided free of charge to patients and their loved ones, yet just a small proportion of our costs are covered by the government. Every pound that you can afford to give today will help Oakhaven provide vital services for families in the future.
