There’s no right way to grieve

Some people want to talk.

Some want to keep busy.

Some want everyone around them.

Others need some time alone.

There isn’t a handbook for grief, and there certainly isn’t a deadline.

That’s why arranging a funeral shouldn’t feel like being pushed through a process.

And sometimes you need someone to take care of the practical details while you concentrate on your family.

They talk about the little things.

The way they always made the tea.
The chair they always sat in.
The stories they told for the hundredth time.
The song they always sang along to.
The Sunday routine nobody was allowed to change.

A funeral is one part of saying goodbye.

The memories that came before it are everything.

A cup of tea with someone you love.
A walk somewhere familiar.
A favourite song on the radio.
A laugh over something completely silly.

We don’t always realise we’re making memories while we’re making them.

So make the most of the little things today. 🤍

Some things can’t be put in a photograph.

The way they laughed.
The phrases they always used.
The stories they told for the hundredth time.
The way they made you feel when they walked into a room.

Those are the things we carry with us.

And perhaps that’s the greatest part of remembering someone - they continue to be part of our lives in ways we don’t always expect. 🤍
