Sometimes the biggest shift comes from the simplest change… a different view, a breath of sea air, a break from the everyday.
Back in 2020, in between lockdowns, we took the opportunity to explore West Wales—from Cardigan and Aberporth across to St Davids and down to Oxwich on the Pembrokeshire coast.
It wasn’t about going far. It was about going somewhere.
Looking back, that time captured so much of what My Life Tonic is all about 👇
A change of scene
After months of restrictions, just getting away felt significant. Space to move, to think, to reset. It’s easy to forget now just how much those small freedoms mattered.
Keeping it simple
We stayed local—but did new things. Surfing (with mixed success), coasteering, coastal walks, and spotting dolphins out at sea.
No packed itinerary, no pressure—just taking each day as it came.
Going with the flow
Some of the best moments weren’t planned. A spontaneous wander to a quiet hilltop church. Coffee on a windswept beach. Sand surfing (badly!) down dunes on a sunny afternoon.
Proof that not every moment needs scheduling to be memorable.
Resilience & perspective
The weather didn’t always play ball—but we made the most of it anyway. Because sometimes it’s less about the conditions, and more about the mindset you bring to them.
Shared moments
From great local restaurants to simple beachside food, it was about being together, appreciating what was available, and making the most of it.
That trip was a reminder that a “tonic” doesn’t have to be far-flung or elaborate. Sometimes it’s right on your doorstep—waiting for you to notice it.
More throwbacks to come…
