Quick tip on reintroducing early plyometric exercises into your workouts.

Particularly useful if you have never done this type of movement. Or you have had a drop in expose to this type of moment due to injury or time of training.

Give these a go and see what you think

Most patients plateau on calf raises because they keep adding reps and weight and not changing the stimulus.

Here’s a simple fix: elevate the forefoot on a wedge before you raise. And bend the knee.

This increases ankle dorsiflexion range, placing more stretch load on the soleus and deep calf muscles.

The muscles a flat-floor calf raise barely touches…

Same exercise. Completely different demand.

Small variation, drives big adaptation.

Achilles pain doesn’t just limit you physically.

It knocks your confidence to return to the sport you love.

Loading tolerance and mental readiness go hand in hand in Achilles rehab.

We address both.

This is what structured, progressive rehab looks like at MCR.

Objective testing within your rehab

Have you ever had an injury assessment where the therapist treated your capacity and strength?

Using objective performance testing through VALD technology, we can measure:

• Force output
• Limb asymmetries
• Rate of force development
• Capacity under load
• Return-to-run readiness
• Return-to-performance markers

Every rehab plan is then built around YOUR data, YOUR goals and YOUR sport.

No guessing.
No generic rehab.

Just evidence-based rehab, progressive loading and objective testing until you’re back performing at the level you actually want to be at.

Most physio starts with where it hurts.

We start with something different: What do you want to get back to?

That one question changes everything about how your plan is built. Because pain is not the problem. Pain is the signal. The real problem is what it's stopping you from doing.

The race you're training for, the sport you love, the training session you haven't been able to get through in months.

At MCR we don't treat the symptom and send you on your way.

We build a complete picture of what's actually driving the problem using objective testing and data.

That data tells us exactly what needs to change. And from there we build a structured plan with one destination in mind. Building a body resilient enough to handle your lifestyle and demands.

Every session has a purpose. Every exercise has a reason. You'll always know where you are in the process and what comes next.

We don't discharge you when the pain settles. We discharge you when the data and assessments tell us your body is strong enough that this won't come back.

This is the difference between a one off appointment and a complete rehab journey.

Most people have had the first. Very few have experienced the second.

That's what we do at MCR.
