I’m a charity offering advocacy, carer support, mental health, counselling and therapy services to Manchester. For nearly 200 years, I’ve been a voice for people struggling to have theirs heard, a shoulder to cry on for those shouldering a burden and a helping hand for anyone helping others to cope. I believe supporting individuals has a ripple effect on the whole community, ultimately building be

tter futures all round. Everyone’s circumstances are unique, but whatever situation you find yourself in, I’m here to listen.

Paul lives in Swinton and cares for his mum, who lives in a nearby care home.

In this short film, Paul shares his experience of juggling his caring role with work responsibilities. Paul also shares the advice he’d give to others who care for a family member, but don’t necessarily consider themselves a carer.

A huge thank you to Paul for inviting us into his home, sharing his experiences and helping to raise awareness of unpaid carers during National Carers Week 💙
