Today marks 8 years of Level Heads, and what better time to reflect on the journey so far.
I often look back at tangible achievements, but it’s important to recognise these happen whilst we continue working on our recovery journey. This is the first picture taken just after founding the business in 2018. Hopefully, a few of these have done him proud in ways he couldn’t have imagined.
👉 Delivered talks and workshops despite my brain insisting every thought must feel just right beforehand. No thanks, I’ll see how I get on anyway. Fast forward to those thoughts meaning nothing the minute after the talk. Winning!
👉 Got comfortable in front of audiences and on camera by not avoiding opportunities out of fear. Started anxious, remain a little anxious, but that’s OK. Those who relate make it worth it.
👉 Started uncomfortable conversations about mental health in industries I once thought were a no-go because of my personal history. Turns out, people really do want to make positive change.
👉 Accepted the uncertainty of winging it in the early days, gradually figuring out a more focused plan along the way.
👉 Branched into private practice alongside my other work. Knowing my worth was an uncomfortable transition, but a game changer.
👉 Helped others face the things that once ruled my life. My greatest motivation, even when it’s not always easy. Wouldn’t change it for a second!
👉 Got back up after countless knockbacks and moments of doubt, wondering whether carrying on was the right thing to do.
👉 Threw myself into training and academia, despite once feeling like I couldn’t cope. With the right support, things get easier, and the payoff is worth it.
The list could go on… Here’s to our 9th year, where discomfort will remain, but for all the right reasons, as we explore exciting projects that can take us to the next Level! 🧠
