Yesterday, we were pleased to welcome Lucy Franklin, Recruitment Consultant from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Rusholme and Didsbury Jobcentre Plus, to the Ethnic Health Forum office.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen our partnership and explore new ways of supporting local communities.
Our discussions focused on progressing the English Conversation Club Programme, helping people improve their English language skills, confidence, and employability.

We also explored opportunities for work experience placements for Jobcentre Plus clients, creating pathways for individuals to gain valuable workplace experience, develop new skills, and improve their chances of securing meaningful employment.

At Ethnic Health Forum, we believe that collaboration is key to empowering communities, reducing barriers to employment, and promoting social inclusion.
We look forward to working closely with Department for Work & Pensions and Jobcentre Plus to deliver positive outcomes for the people we support.

Ethnic Health Forum was proud to attend the Inclusive Culture Event at Eccles Town Hall as part of the Healthier Salford Community Champions Network.

The event brought together community champions and local organisations, services to celebrate the rich diversity of Salford, and the partnerships helping to improve health and wellbeing across our communities.

We had a second visit in a week to Buille Hill Park, Salford, and it was a hit!✨️

After our initial visit, we received lots of great feedback from those who participated. In turn, many more ladies wanted to join in after missing out last time!

It was a wonderful gathering with lovely breakfast snacks shared by the participants and, as always, a refreshing walk with conversations! 🚶‍♀️🌟

Our 'Walkie Talkie Park Buddy' group enjoyed a refreshing walk through Buile Hill Park.

The session provided an opportunity for participants to get active, enjoy the outdoors, connect with others, and support their wellbeing through friendly conversation and shared experiences.

💜 Creating safe spaces for healing and change.

13 women from across Manchester came together through the Happy Homes Project (HHP) to share their psychosocial experiences of living with stillbirth.

As part of HHP, we have established a dedicated support group within our wider perinatal family programme, creating a safe space for women with lived experience of stillbirth and its associated psychosocial challenges.

Today's workshop, delivered in collaboration with , , and , reflects our commitment to bringing local residents together around important perinatal issues while ensuring their voices help shape future research and services.

Building a healthier community, together. 🤝

We’re still feeling inspired by last month’s Community Health Fair at The Klondyke ! It was incredible to stand alongside so many fantastic local organisations dedicated to wellbeing.

For us, it was all about:

- Connecting directly with our community.

- Sharing vital health and wellbeing resources.

- Collaborating with partner organisations on future initiatives.
