Cricket is more than just a game 🏏 This Mental Health Awareness Week, remember that being part of a club means looking out for each other, on and off the field. A quick check-in, a conversation, or simply being there for someone can make all the difference 💚

For injured players especially, time away from the game can feel isolating. Missing matches, training, and time with teammates can have a real impact on mental wellbeing, as well as physical recovery.

That’s why supporting injured teammates matters. Keep them involved, check in regularly, celebrate the small recovery wins, and remind them they’re still part of the team 🫶

Recovery isn’t just physical - and no player should go through it alone.

A split second can change a game 🏏🖐️ Finger injuries are all too common in cricket — catches, dives, and fast deliveries take their toll. The right assessment, imaging, and rehab are key to protecting performance and speeding up a safe return to play.

This X-ray shows a 16-year-old county player who sustained a fracture to the proximal phalanx of the thumb, at the attachment of the ulnar collateral ligament, after being struck while batting.

Quickly assessed by our Hand and Wrist Consultant, Kunal Hinduja, they received targeted specialist treatment and are on track to return to play within 6-8 weeks. Fingers crossed (pardon the pun) 🤞

If a finger injury isn’t settling, don’t wait — early specialist care can make all the difference in getting you back on the pitch.
