Reiki Mark Cross

Reiki Mark Cross Originally from Japan, this now global non-invasive healing technique supports the body's own ability to restore its own balance and mend.

Reiki Mark Cross is a health and well-being company situated in the beautiful Sussex countryside that offers 1 hour treatments and teaching to Shinpiden (Master Teacher level) teaching tradition Japanese Reiki. 💜 Reiki is a form of hands on healing that uses the practitioner's ability to sense energy disturbances and imbalances in the body and provide loving support to bring about comfort, relief

and healing. Particularly useful in times of great distress and to speed up the recovery from long term injury and illness, Reiki seems to work on a very deep level bringing out restoration of balance, release of tension and shifts in energy. To date I have successfully helped individuals suffering with Chronic Fatigue, infertility, headaches and migraines, loss of confidence, asthma and breathing conditions, skin disorders and obesity.

Can Reiki help me at work?
For a long time now, I have wanted to help people understand that Reiki techniques aren't just useful as a healing tool - but as a way of us and others living a happier and healthier life.

Reiki, for me, is a tried and tested approach to my True Self. For some their approach will be religion, others sport or music and some lucky souls are naturally themselves all the time anyway. For me the meditation techniques, spiritual teachings, precepts and treatments strip away my emotional baggage and let the real me come out to play. This shocked me at first, which tells you how shut down I was, but is something I am grateful for, and used to, now.

However, when sharing about Reiki with others I don't want to stop there - I want to share my experience on how it has profoundly shaped the way I am with other people.

One of the areas of my life this is most obvious is in my work. Alongside teaching Reiki and giving treatments, I also offer health coaching and learning experiences with horses. Neither of these look like a conventional Reiki treatment with a person lying on a couch, yet both draw profoundly on my Reiki skills.

In both the coaching and Equine Facilitated Learning, I use my Reiki knowledge to ground myself before a session and ensure I am as blank a canvas for the client as I am able. Being grounded is important in the workplace to maintain equilibrium when things don't go to plan, which invariably they don't. Being grounded also helps me hear better, respond more appropriately and stay in the present moment rather than mentally wander off and get distracted. This means I'm more likely to make a good decision first time around.

During a session, I make myself as open and available as possible, letting the client take from me what they need. Some clients need reassurance, others need to have their struggles witnessed, whilst some need me to match their energy and enthusiasm without being told to be quiet or less curious. My openness comes from having no preconceived ideas about how a session should look, something my Reiki training taught me very early on. This skill applies to all walks of life. Whether it's a surgeon about to complete a complicated procedure, a support worker helping an autistic person navigate the world or a teacher helping children to develop numeracy and literacy - there is never a bad time to be responsive to the moment.

Reiki has also helped me to be intuitive and to have confidence in my perceptions. Intuitively we may pick up in our body some of what the other person is experiencing. We can use this information to make informed choices on how best to proceed, pacing our interactions to a level people can handle, knowing when to stop and when a person needs more of a challenge.

At the end of a session, my Reiki techniques help me to make a clean transition into my next activity. Being grounded and present helps to process experiences quickly and that gives people the freedom to be fresh for the next task. It also helps support mine and the wellbeing of others and knowing what is needed to maintain wellness - something I think a lot of people could really benefit from.

I had no idea any of these benefits were available to me before I completed my training. These are experiences that have come with diligent practice and an open mind, and I am very grateful.

So many people think that Reiki is simply the hands on healing experience. I would argue it is much more than that. Reiki is a vehicle to your true essence and thus a pathway to peace. What you do with that essence and how you experience it in your unique scenario is something only you can answer. 💜

Today I was blessed to have a and treatment from Harmony Crystals .

Thanks to Wendy's excellent crystals I've amassed quite a collection of my own, so I got them all out today for a cleanse and added them to Wendy's collection for the treatment.

Thanks to Wendy I've been reminded of who I am (core principle of Reiki) and something that is bothering me is a problem no more.

Are you a crystal addict? I find them so collectable! 💎

I have 2 students that would like to do a equine-specific Okuden (level 2) training and I wondered if anyone else was interested?

Our proposed date options for 2 days next to each other are :

29-31 October
5-7 November

Courses run 10am - ~4.30pm and we spend time each day with the HorseSense UK herd.

Who is the course for?

This course is for those that have completed Shoden in traditional Japanese Reiki and have a established practice. You will need to have a good practical grasp of the precepts, experience of treating yourself and others and ideally are a horse owner or work with horses.

Completion of the course plus 6 assessed case studies will result in a certificate of your professional competency to treat humans. It is recommended you complete an animal specific training if you would also like to work professionally with animals.

More details and a course outline is available here:

https://www.horsesenseuk.com/event-details/okuden-for-horse-lovers-2

A Shoden (level 1) course for horse owners will be coming soon, plus I hope a Shoden course with a focus on supporting the autistic community.

All courses come with ongoing support and the invite to join my online community. 🙂

Feel free to reach out with your questions!

Reiki, treatment or cure?
Many people learn how to do Reiki treatments to help themselves and their loved ones. Common issues they come to address in themselves and others are anxiety, digestive issues, chronic or acute pain, depression, asthma or autoimmune disorders.
Whilst treating an upset stomach recently I was reminded, do we do Reiki simply to deal with symptoms, or is it capable of dealing with the cause?
Of course, the answer is both.
Reiki is fantastic for acute issues such as pain, aches, injuries and infections - but if we were to stop there, we'd be selling it short.
When I work with clients, I'm not only looking to alleviate their current discomfort, but get to the cause of the imbalance in the first place.
In fact, if I'm honest, I'm only interested in addressing the cause because I know that will deal with all aspects.
It means setting and working with a deeper intention. That requires a limitless mindset and not getting in the way of the treatment doing it's thing.
I know this gets results!
I have clients that have come to me with chronic health conditions that now don't have those issues. This isn't uncommon. If they diligently stick to a schedule of treatments and don't sabotage their success, change will happen!
However, you can't force change, you have to allow it.
It's like water running down a hill, you have to apply the treatment and let the water flow the way it wants to.
This is about accepting life as it is and being at peace with all realities.
This takes courage and strength, something we already are.
So the next time you have an ache, infection or pain, I invite you to not only treat the discomfort but the cause of the discomfort.
Let me know how you get on!

Teaching Reiki today to teacher level! I ask my students to come back another day and demonstrate their teacher abilities before I will certify them and then they know they are ready to do it themselves.
This means I am either looking for 4 brave and courageous students wanting to learn the art of healing to benefit themselves and their friends and family, or 4 students wanting to go to the next level of their training.
Course fees vary depending on what level you are learning at. Learning about working with animals and option (though I can't certify anyone in that). Payment plans available.
Would you like to learn Reiki? Can you help?

Reiki is the word to describe the energy that all physical matter vibrates with, the invisible energy of thought, and an awareness of the stillness all energy exists in.

When you learn Reiki, you learn to detect and support energetic balance so energy flows and is harmonious.

Stuck energy causes dis-ease. Chronically excessively moving energy causes dis-ease. We are ideally looking for dynamic energy that can respond when required and return to calm when no longer necessary

Reiki therefore speaks to everything both living and inanimate and is therefore suitable for things both living and inanimate.

Reiki is not about changing the energy of something, but allowing it to be as it is, without restrictions or excess.

Horses, like any other being, benefit enormously from Reiki to help them with their issues. Just this morning I helped one horse whose owner is going through a lot of grief and another with an upset colon due to a change of diet.

As the practitioner I do nothing more than hold a stabilising space for the horse to do what it needs to do, whether that's feel and release emotions or reverse anxiety over gut pain so the colon can relax and move again.

Just like humans, thoughts and emotions can cause dis-ease in animals, and just like humans, supporting emotional wellbeing can result in improved physical wellbeing.

The calm space a Reiki practitioner holds is directly related to the practitioner's ability to do that for themselves. Therefore you'll find the most effective practitioners are the ones with an established meditation practice, that live life in a meditative way, have regular treatments themselves and adhere to the Reiki precepts on a daily basis.

Reiki is a way of life, something you are invited to commit to from the very beginning. It's not something you do for an hour a day and then drop and forget about, but a moment by moment practise of being mindful and present. A practitioner will constantly be challenging themselves to be more compassionate, diligent and free of the past, present and future. They will be grounded in their now-ness, innocent and free of resistance and attachment.

If that all sounds very spiritual, it because it is! "Rei" means spiritual, acknowledging the seen and unseen for more harmony and therefore health.

I am currently collecting names of people that would like to learn this calming and nurturing approach. You do not have to have any kind of gift or prior experience, anyone can learn the techniques of this approach and apply them to their daily life.

Courses are 12 hours long and generally happen over 2 days. Those 2 days do not have to be next to each other.

I specialise in teaching Reiki to parents, animal lovers, neurodiverse and those with chronic illnesses. I teach in a beautiful rural location in Mark Cross, East Sussex with horses close by and offer payment plans for financial ease.

Courses start at £225 for the Shoden (beginners teachings) and I go right through to the teacher level. Pricing includes teaching materials and ongoing online support. I also host both online and in-person shares.

Feel free to reach out with your questions or to request to be included in the date setting exercise for future courses. I look forward to hearing from you.

"Love is like a tree, it grows of its own accord, it puts down deep roots into our whole being."

― Victor Hugo

Today I had the privilege to spend time with a horse that has had 180° shift in perspective after he met a person that he liked and who fell in love with them.

I've had the privilege of watching this relationship blossom over the last 2 years. At first it was a connection over commonalities - gender, neuro type, their reactions to the things they don't like, but in time it became a connection of reciprocity, a seeing of the other as they are, without needing them to be different.

What was happening was that as they saw qualities they liked in each other, they started to love and accept themselves. Because someone loved them in a way they had always wanted to be loved, they realised they were loveable and they changed their opinion of themselves.

It meant they didn't have to be with the other to have a healthy respect for themselves, they had found it within themselves.

The journey Reiki invites us to go on is a lot like this. As we peel away the layers of beliefs and stuck emotions we are left with a non-judgemental (aka loving) relationship with our true selves.

A kind and loving relationship with ourselves is all we have ever desired. We are with ourselves 24/7, if we're not kind and loving to ourselves then we become our biggest aggressor.

Few people truly realise how important it is to love yourself, waiting for others to do it for them. When you write it out, you can easily see the flaw in that plan!

Depending on others to love us doesn't give us the kind of security of love we desire, makes us easily manipulated and vulnerable to the whims of others. What happens when that person goes away, do we become unlovable again? If we don't love ourselves, what does that mean - we are bad? We deserve to be ignored? We shouldn't look after ourselves? Of course not!

Healthy self-love listens and acknowledges our heart's desires, provides a safe and loving environment to live in, clothes and feeds us, follows our passions and purpose, seeks out meaningful connections, sets boundaries, advocates for our safety and wellbeing and says no to things that aren't in our best interest.

For some, this kind of self-love is learnt from their care takers when they are young. However, this isn't always the case. Sometimes our adult role models don't always know how to love themselves, so cannot teach what they themselves don't have a first hand experience of.

If this was you, developing that healthy kind of self-love is still possible. It takes bravery and courage to let go of your comfort strategies that have been keeping yourself safe. These are strategies such as putting up barriers, never letting people get too close, avoiding connection or seeking people that feel familiar to what you know repeating previous patterns.

Reiki is a gentle way to break down barriers, bring to completion old patterns, bring acceptance to what you have been through and find peace and solace where there was once hurt and anger. Reiki is a way of bringing our whole selves to an experience, which is where all our power and potential lies.

This is what it means to heal and become whole. It may take a spark of recognition in an other to make it happen, and when it does it spreads, like the roots of a tree into every part of our existence.

Are you ready to take your Reiki journey to teacher level? I have a one day course running on Friday 24th July for those wishing to complete the teacher part of their Shinpiden training. This will be aligned to traditional Japanese Reiki, though all lineages of Reiki are welcome.

What to expect: the course is a mixture of theory and practical and will be tailored to the group's needs. There will be time spent revisiting the fundamental principles of Reiki, how the precepts relate to teaching, how to set your teaching practice up for success and the Reiju process. We'll also practice Hatsuirei ho as the Gakkai does and there will be time for a short, seated treatment.

All this will take place in my beautiful rural location with the option to spend time outside if the weather is nice.

Teaching is a wonderful thing to do as not only do you learn so much yourself, but you have a ripple effect through other people that go on and share the wonderful gifts of Reiki with their community also.

The fee for this one day training, the manual and follow up support is £495. Let me know if you would like to join! 💜

*Note, this is the teacher training only. Students must have completed the Shinpiden training first. Resits and students that have learnt with other teachers welcome.
