Castle Lodge is a brand-new care home located in the picturesque village of Mere, close to Shaftesbury and Warminster. Our beautiful home will offer residential and specialist dementia care in a peaceful setting, providing a safe, secure and rewarding lifestyle for those with a variety of needs. The luxury facilities at Castle Lodge will be comparable to those of a high-end hotel, while our staff will get to know each resident personally, meaning everyone is looked after as part of the family.

What better way is there to start off my week than a craft workshop with these ladies, such a good way to begin a morning!

Monday I went to Castle Lodge Care Home for my very first workshop with them.

I toured this home earlier in the year on their open day and I must say I was blown away by how amazing the food was, how big the space was and the thought that went into each area was amazing. There is a starry sky for watching films, a games room with one of those large interactive tables AND a separate 'English pub' area which really puts the cherry on top of this home in my opinion!

For this workshop we made lavender sachets with either bee's or flower's on. Residents chose the fabric and the design they loved the most, so it's completely individual to them! They then cut out and drew around a template ready for me to sew it! After this they all spent their time gently filling the sachet with lavender before I finally sewed it shut.

Each resident left with their sachet in it's own gift bag with their name on!

The feeling of achievement in this room was incredible! One lady proudly showed off her creation in her gift bag saying 'I made this' to every person she met along the corridor on the way down to the lounge!

They all had the best time as you can see... smiles don't lie!

I can't wait to join them again soon for the Remembrance and Christmas workshops!

Thank you to the whole team at Castle Lodge, especially Emma the activity lead and Louise who I started the workshop with! They were both amazing and an absolute credit to the home with how amazing they are with every lady and gent who walked into the room!

We’re proud to be supporting the Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Mere URC Centre on Friday 25th September from 10am - 1pm! 💚☕🍰 Macmillan Cancer Support

When our banner arrived, we realised it was a little bigger than expected… okay, a LOT bigger! 😂

But we thought, what better way to raise awareness? So the team rolled it out in the garden, sent up the drone and made sure you definitely couldn’t miss the message! 🚁💚

A lovely send-off for our wonderful manager, Wendy, as she heads into retirement. ❤️

Wendy has been with Castle Lodge Care Home since we first opened and has been such a fantastic support to our staff, residents and families. Her dedication, kindness and hard work have made such a difference, and she will be greatly missed.

As Wendy begins this exciting new chapter, we’re delighted to welcome Lisa as our new manager. Lisa brings fresh ideas and new approaches while continuing the care and values that make Castle Lodge so special.

Here’s to Wendy and her retirement, and to another exciting chapter for everyone at Castle Lodge Care Home! 🥂

🌸🎶 Welcoming The West Country Songbirds to Castle Lodge Care Home ! 🎶🌸

Their beautiful songs brought back so many happy memories, with wartime favourites, familiar tunes and plenty of reminiscence and lovely chats.

Our residents enjoyed singing along, sharing stories and remembering times gone by. It was a truly heart-warming afternoon filled with music, laughter and treasured memories. ❤️

A huge thank you to the West Country Song Birds for entertaining us and helping create such a special afternoon! 🎵🌷
