We’d love to invite you to our Canalside Mindful Moments wellbeing sessions – a friendly and welcoming space where you can take time for yourself, meet others, and enjoy activities that support relaxation and positive wellbeing. Whether you enjoy reading, crafts, colouring, knitting, crochet, or simply having a chat over a cup of tea is welcome. Come along, unwind, and discover new hobbies in a supportive and inclusive environment. Spaces are limited, so please get in touch to reserve your place.

Health Checks are coming to Rochdale Borough Libraries

💜🧡 FREE COMMUNITY HEALTH CHECKS 🧡💜

📍 Middleton Library, Long Street, Middleton, M24 6DU
📅 Tuesday 30h June 2026
🕙 10:00am – 3:30pm

Our health checks include:
✔ Blood Pressure
✔ Blood Sugar & Cholesterol
✔ Body Weight & BMI
✔ Immunisations & Oral Health Advice
⏱ Each check takes approximately 20–25 minutes, including your results.

We will also have information, advice and support available for:
🚭 Stop Smoking
📚 Health & Skills
🍷 Alcohol Support
🍎 Weight & Diet
🤝 Loneliness & Isolation

Know your numbers and take control of your health.
Eligibility:
• Aged 25+
• Not under GP care for ongoing treatment
• Not currently taking medication for cholesterol or diabetes
• No haemophilia or pregnancy
💧 Please drink plenty of water before attending.

It's and we're encouraging men to take a moment to think about their health - and to look out for the other men in their lives too. 💙

If you're a man aged 65 or over, or you have a father, partner, brother, friend or neighbour who is, make sure they know about the NHS Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening programme.

An AAA often has no symptoms, but if left untreated it can be life-threatening. The good news is that a simple, pain-free scan can detect it early.

- Takes around 10 minutes
- No pain or discomfort
- Results provided straight away
- Could save your life

If you've received an invitation, don't put it off. Book your AAA screening and, if you have any concerns about your health, get in touch with your GP practice.

AccuRx makes it easier to contact the practice online, send non-urgent medical and admin requests, and receive updates securely from our team.
