On Friday 19th June at 6pm, Alan Tomlinson will be hosting a local history talk in our office centred around the history of Middleton & District Sunday Football League.
It is important to preserve our local history, we hope you can attend and share fond memories if you were part of this historic league.
This will take place in our office in Middleton (Old Hall St, M24 1AN). All are welcome to attend, pop down and have a brew with us.

Massive thank you to Andy for coaching and being a stellar influence on the kids. Also a big thank you to the parents and locals who volunteer their time to make this all possible.

Why do we have football trophies displayed in our window? 🏆

As a local family business, we believe community history is worth preserving. Middleton & District Sunday Football League has been at the heart of our town for over 50 years, creating friendships, memories and a strong sense of pride that deserves to be remembered and shared. We’re honoured to give our window space to such historic preservations. The display is organised by Alan Tomlinson as part of Middleton Fringe Festival.

Alongside the window display, there will be a book of records available to view in our office for anyone interested in learning more about the history of the teams, players and leagues over the years. We would warmly welcome members of the community to pop in and take a look.

The display and teams organiser Alan Tomlinson will be hosting a local history talk in our office centred around the history of the club, and give further information about the display.
This will take place in our office in Middleton (Old Hall St, M24 1AN), Friday 19th June, 6pm. All are welcome to attend. Coffee and tea is on us! The talk will be a great opportunity to connect with locals and learn more about our town's history. We’d like an idea for numbers, so if you plan to attend, please leave a comment below.

We’re looking forward to being part of this project and helping keep an important piece of our town’s history alive for future generations.

Raymond Braddock

Raymond, aged 58, has sadly passed away. Raymond’s family want to extend an invite to all those who knew him to his celebration of life funeral service.

The service will be held at Middleton Crematorium on Friday 29th May, 11:00am.

Family flowers only please. Everyone else is welcome to donate to MIND in memory of Raymond. A collection box will be present at the service.

Laura, aged 42, passed peacefully beside her loving family at Lancaster Royal Infirmary.

Laura’s loved ones would like to invite all those who knew Laura to attend her celebration of life service, which will take place Thursday 21st May, 12:00pm at Blackley Crematorium. The family have requested a dress code of bright coloured tops for those attending.

All are welcome to bring flowers as a tribute for Laura if they wish to do so.

Paul, aged 70, passed peacefully beside his loving family at North Manchester General Hospital.

Paul’s loved ones would like to invite all those who knew Paul to attend his celebration of life service, which will take place Thursday 30th April, 11:30am at Middleton Crematorium.

After the service, attendees are welcome to The Old C**k Inn (Oldham Road, Middleton, M24 2EB) for refreshments and to share memories of Paul.

Family flowers only please. All are welcome to donate to The British Heart Foundation in memory of Paul. A collection box will be present at the service.

Pamela, aged 78, passed peacefully at Middleton Hall Care Home.

Pamela’s loved ones would like to invite those who knew Pamela to attend her celebration of life service, which will take place Tuesday 28th April, 1pm at Middleton Crematorium.

After the service, attendees are welcome to The Gardeners Arms (Hollin Lane, Middleton) for refreshments and share to memories of Pamela.

Family flowers only please. All are welcome to donate to The Alzheimers Society in memory of Pamela. A collection box will be present at the service.

For those not able to attend, a livestream will be available for Pamela’s service.
