✨Building a Loving connection with babies(before and after birth)✨
As a CranioSacral Therapist, one of the most profound things I witness in my practice is how deeply babies respond to the quality of presence around them. 🕊️
Babies are incredibly sensitive to tone, touch, emotion, and connection. One of the most healing gifts we can offer them—both before and after birth—is what practitioners call Loving Presence: being calmly, fully present with warmth, care, and genuine attention.
Here are a few gentle ways parents, carers, and practitioners can nurture this deep bond:
🐢 Slow down: A baby’s nervous system moves at a much slower rhythm than our adult pace. When we soften our pace and settle our own breathing, babies instantly feel safer and more connected.
🗣️ Speak with understanding: Talk to babies as though they can fully comprehend you. Even in the womb, they respond to the emotional quality behind your words.
💆♀️ Acknowledge and reassure: If there is sudden stress or a loud noise during pregnancy, a mother can gently reassure her baby by explaining what is happening in a calm, loving way. This helps both mom and baby return to a state of safety.
👣 Include them in the conversation: Speak respectfully to babies rather than talking about them as if they aren’t there. For example: “Mummy told me your tummy might be feeling a little uncomfortable today — is that right?” Then, pause quietly and patiently observe how they respond.
How CranioSacral Therapy Supports This Journey: In CST, treatment during pregnancy or after birth supports both mother and baby together. By creating a safe, quiet space, sessions help with:
Deep relaxation
Settling anxiety and stress
Releasing difficult birth experiences
Encouraging a calmer, more supported journey into early bonding.
