🌟 Proud of our people. Proud of the difference they make. 🌟

We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from the Nottinghamshire Proud to Care Awards.

With more than 700 nominations submitted this year, we’re incredibly proud that five members of our team, Levi, Hasibur, Ajeesh, Megan and Kat, were nominated by their colleagues for the contribution they make to social care. 💛

Being recognised by the people who work alongside you every day is something very special.

And then there’s Lee… ⭐

We are absolutely thrilled that Lee has gone one step further and has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Rising Star Award!

Lee has a unique role across our two organisations. As a Community Care Worker with Responsive Care Group, she supports people to remain safe and independent in their own homes. As a Harris James Active Coach, she works with people to build strength, mobility, confidence and independence.

Two roles. One purpose, helping people continue living life on their terms.

Whatever happens at the awards, being selected as a finalist from such a huge number of nominations is already a brilliant achievement.

Congratulations Lee! And congratulations to Levi, Hasibur, Ajeesh, Megan and Kat on your nominations too.

Most people wouldn't describe this as losing confidence.

Another milestone. Another smile. Another reminder of why we do what we do. 💛🤍🩶

Today was a very special day for Richard.
During his usual visit, he got back on his mobility scooter and headed down by the River Trent for the first time.

He was enjoying himself so much that we couldn’t keep up with him! 😃

This wasn’t just about getting on a scooter.

It was about confidence.

Freedom.
Choice.
Independence.

Richard’s journey hasn’t happened because of one person. It has taken a fantastic team who have consistently encouraged him to do more for himself, gently challenged the psychological barriers that had built up over time, and believed in what was possible.

Megan, as Richard’s Harris James Active coach, has played a huge part in rebuilding his confidence, but every member of the team supporting Richard has contributed to this achievement.

Next stop… after Friday’s Active session powered by EverFit Fitness, Richard is hoping to visit the Italian coffee shop.

And well, what can I say. Trent Bridge is firmly in his sights.
It’s just a shame he wasn’t quite ready a couple of days earlier to catch a free England v New Zealand with what was Ben Stokes’ final day in international cricket. Although, given the result, perhaps he isn’t too disappointed he missed it! 😉🏏
