(Great Park) passed away peacefully at St Oswald’s Hospice on Saturday 29th August 2026. A wonderful wife to Dan and an amazing Mam to Jay and Jessica. Would friends please meet for service at the West Road Crematorium on Tuesday 15th September at 1:15pm. It’s lovely that our granddaughter Lydia enjoyed her works experience with us so much she asked to come back in. During school holidays you may see Lydia (who turns 16 on Saturday) out and about with us as she gains more experience and gets further insight into funeral service. With funeral service running through her blood with her grandparents and parents it is no surprise that she sees this as her future career. The next generation is incoming and how proud we are.

With broken hearts, we announce that Graeme passed away at home, with Kate by his side, on July 19th 2026 aged 39 years.

Devoted husband to Kate, a much beloved son of Stuart & Hazel, treasured brother to Michael, brother in law to Emma, Rob & Emma , an idolised Uncle to Harry, Lily and Alf, cherished son in law to Jane and Joe, grandson and adored friend to many.

He is loved beyond words, missed beyond measure and remembered forever by all those that knew and loved him.

Family and friends please meet for service at Northumberland Crematorium, NE65 9QJ on Tuesday 11th August at 1.45pm. Dress code formal with a touch of blue. A celebration of Graeme will be held following the service at The Hilton, NE8 2AR.

Today Robert Bush has received a 20year sentence. As a family run funeral service we firmly believe that this is the right decision from the courts. No sentence will ever take away the distress he has caused to families but we hope that the length of this sentence goes some way to allowing families to feel that justice has been served. As a member of SAIF we uphold the highest of standards in the care of our deceased. Our focus is always on our families to ensure they and their loved ones receive the care and support they need and the most difficult time of their life. We will continue to voice the need for stringent regulation of the funeral service industry and the importance of education and completion of an acknowledged qualification.

SAIF has responded following the sentencing of Robert Bush at Hull Crown Court. Bush was sentenced to twenty years after pleading guilty to 67 offences connected with his operation of Legacy Independent Funeral Directors. Sorting through more old paperwork from Marks parents house. Tucked away in a little book was this clipping from the Evening Chronicle back in 1988 when Mark was early in his career. It’s lovely to think how proud Marks parents were of him to have kept this all of these years.

Happy birthday to the boss!! (Well at work anyway 😉)
45 years of working in funeral service and he has never lost his passion, commitment or high standard of professionalism in what he believes in. Mark continues to promote the need for regulation of funeral service and the belief that you should be qualified to undertake such an important role in people’s lives. Two lovely pieces of jewellery completed recently. It doesn’t always need to be ashes for our jewellery. This necklace has a small amount of hair discreetly placed in it whilst the earrings are fingerprint engraved. Special keepsakes that can stay with you.
