A quiet day in the lounge called for some quiet games, introduced the ladies to a new card game we could play together and finished a couple of rounds of dominoes before lunch.

Iced Tea Day
We all taste tested a variety of flavoured iced tea, our most popular was Raspberry, followed by Peach and Lemon. some residents commented on how refreshing it was whilst a couple of others didn't like the taste .
Tea is the world’s most popular
beverage and has been drunk for
thousands of years. Iced tea is a
relatively new American idea. It took off
during Prohibition in the 1920s when
drinking establishments served strong
iced tea as a substitute for hard liquour
due to its bold flavour.

Sharing is Caring
A beautiful, caring little girl who visits our residents often for a catch up and a singalong, decided for her birthday that the cake had to be big enough for all her friends and residents. The cake was then delivered and is a ready treat for Teatime..
Our little visitor will be popping in later on, to check that they've all had a piece and to tell them all about her party.

Here at Lake view to celebrate World Ocean Day, we invited the Aquarium to visit and give a talk about the ocean and conservation effects, we learnt so much about the various sea creatures .
We travelled from Plymouth Aquariam to the Atlantic/Pacific oceans, using 'VR' headsets which were a very new experience for the majority of our residents.
We swam with dolphins and sharks, searched the seabeds and explored the ocean fully.
We learnt more about the conservation, the hard work and history of the Aquarium
and got to view and hold some amazing artefacts and learning all about them.
What a fantastic morning and so much fun.

We were very excited to welcome students from our local college for a 'wellness' pamper day.
Our residents were all treated to mini manicures and hand and arm massages, the students engaged with the residents and stories, experiences and memories were shared, the girls had many compliments from residents.
Our residents enjoyed the conversations and interactions, most said they felt relaxed and revived after the treatments and they would welcome the students back again.

Jeanette has a love for books, specifically crimes and real dramas.
Reading has become more difficult over the years, with smaller text and concentration.
Today we tried something new.
We chose 'Crime and Punishment' audio book from our Echo book club, it was great to see Jeanette engaged/concentrating and enjoying her love of books again.

Not all appointments are daunting or boring, we look forward to ours because we make the most of being out in our community.
Doris had a check up today and we had some spare time waiting for transport, so we decided a lovely catch up, some cheeky chips and a cuppa together would be wonderful and it certainly was.
The sun was shining through the cafe conservatory, we overlooked some beautiful views and were very fascinated with the electronic wall art, watching the waves crash and trees blowing in the wind.
We then took a stroll through the archives of the hospital and staffing changes, it was very interesting reads and lovely to look back at all the pictures.
