Future Health Biobank Europe’s first accredited family stem cell bank and UK Queen’s Award winner, Future Health Biobank.

Future Health started by storing cord blood stem cells in 2002 and within four years it had stored its 10,000th sample. Another five years on and the company’s purpose built cryogenic storage facility has over 50,000 stem cell samples for families from more than 45 countries in its care. A cord tissue storage service was added in 2009 and now services to capture cells from other sources identified

for potential medical use – such as dental pulp and adipose tissue - have been introduced with further services.

For young people going through cancer, support needs to go far beyond treatment alone. It’s about having the right environment, the right people, and the chance to connect with others who truly understand.

Teenage Cancer Trust provides this kind of specialist care across the UK – funding dedicated nurses, youth workers and hospital units within the NHS, as well as running events that help young people regain independence and meet others at a similar stage of life.

These moments outside of treatment are so important, offering time to talk, share experiences, and feel less isolated during a challenging journey.
