Today we’re celebrating someone who really is at the heart of The Castle Clinic. ❤️

I’ve known Kelley for over 25 years, right back to when I first started working in Nottingham — and I feel incredibly lucky that all these years later, she’s such an important part of our Castle Clinic family.

As our Head Nurse & Compliance Lead, Kelley is quite simply one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet. She’s the person who quietly gets things done, keeps everything running smoothly and always goes above and beyond — often without anyone even realising just how much she’s doing behind the scenes!

But what makes Kelley particularly special is the way she is with people. She’s friendly, welcoming, kind and endlessly reassuring, and has a wonderful ability to make even the most nervous patients feel safe and at ease. 🥰

She cares enormously about our patients, supports the whole team and brings such warmth to the clinic every single day.

After more than 25 years of knowing her, I can safely say that her kindness, loyalty, work ethic and commitment have never changed.

A veneer is one thin shell doing an outrageous amount of work. 😅

It can cover discolouration, tweak shape, soften a crooked look, close a small gap, and generally make a smile feel more like yours. The clever bit is how custom it is, made to fit your tooth and suit your face.

They’re wafer thin, but once bonded they can be really strong. The process is usually straightforward, with careful planning, a bit of prep, impressions for the lab, then fitting.

Grinding your teeth in your sleep is the sneakiest hobby. You don’t know you’re doing it, but your teeth do. 😬

Bruxism often shows up as flattened edges, enamel wear, sensitivity, and sometimes that tight jaw feeling when you wake up. And because it’s usually happening overnight, lots of people are shocked when we point it out.

If it’s left to crack on, it can lead to more wear, fractures and jaw joint irritation. The good news is there are ways to manage it, but first we need to spot the signs and work out what’s driving it.

Your whitening trays shouldn’t be “one size fits no one”. 😏

Those generic boil-and-bite trays can let gel squish onto your gums, which may cause irritation and patchy results. Not the vibe.
