Autumn 2026 Flu Vaccination Programme

Dear Patients,

Due to a nationwide vaccine supply issue, we are unable to offer our routine vaccine clinic at the practice.

We are able to vaccinate:
-housebound patients and live-in carers over the age of 65
-care home patients
-children under 3 (nasal flu stock unaffected)
-at-risk children between the ages of 3-18

You are still able to receive a vaccine at participating pharmacies if you:

-are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2027)
-are aged 18 to 64 and have certain long-term health conditions
-are pregnant
-are aged 2 to 3 years
-are aged 2 to 17 years with certain long-term health conditions
-are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance
-live with someone who has a weakened immune system
-are experiencing homelessness or staying in a homeless hostel or night shelter

A walking group is available for men with prostate cancer.

Join a local Nordic Walking session, led by qualified instructors, for men with prostate cancer. Suitable for beginners and all fitness types. Come along, meet others in a relaxed setting in the outdoors, over 6 weekly Wednesday sessions 14.00-15.00 (23 Sept - 28 Oct 2026).

Nordic Walking is a low-impact, total body exercise which improves posture and lowers impact on your joints and lower back, allowing you to keep walking for longer. Nordic Walking poles and guidance provided!

A FREE Health and Wellbeing fair will be held at Carlton Forum Leisure Centre on Wednesday the 16th of September, 13:00-18:00 for local residents.

Services include: ABL, Social Prescribing, Health & Wellbeing Coaches, Runspire, Stroke UK, Cora Health, Pulmonary Physiotherapy and Cancer support- self help beyond diagnosis.

MenB Vaccination Programme

Following the recent outbreaks, the UKHSA is conducting a one-off targeted Meningococcal B (MenB) Vaccination service from the 20th of July 2026 until the 31st of March 2027.

The vaccination programme is to offer young people across England protection against the disease before starting higher education this Autumn.

Eligible individuals can book a vaccination at participating community pharmacies via the NHS National Booking service:

If you are 17 or 18 years old and were born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, you can book online now.

If you are under 25, born on or after 21 July 2001 and for the first time this autumn you are starting university or starting at some further education colleges as a residential student, you can get a MenB vaccine at a participating pharmacy from 20 July. This includes international students, students from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, and those travelling abroad to study. You do not need to be registered with a GP surgery to use this service.
