💙 June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month 💙
This month is a reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical health. Too many men still feel they need to suffer in silence, but asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Too often, men feel pressure to "just get on with it" or keep their struggles to themselves. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, addiction, or simply finding life overwhelming, support is available.
📍 Here in Oldham, there are organisations ready to help, including:
🟢Andy's Man Club – free weekly peer-support groups for men every Monday at 7pm, free peer-to-peer support groups for men aged 18+. https://andysmanclub.co.uk/
🟢NHS Oldham Talking Therapies – self-referral support for anxiety, depression, stress and related mental health concerns. https://familyhubs.oldham.gov.uk/nhs-oldham-talking-therapies-formally-healthy-minds-2/?utm_source=chatgpt.com
🟢Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind - Oldham Office – mental wellbeing and support services for local residents. https://www.oldham.gov.uk/info/201243/welcome_to_oldham/3187/mental_wellbeing/3?utm_source=chatgpt.com
If someone is in immediate crisis or at risk of harming themselves, contact emergency services on 999 or call Samaritans on 116 123, available 24 hours a day.
At Springfield House, we understand that reaching out can be difficult, but you don't have to go through things on your own. Our team is here to listen, support and help you take positive steps towards better mental wellbeing.
