WHAT ARE YOU CARRYING—AND HOW IS YOUR BODY RESPONDING?
Work. Family. Hormonal changes. Poor sleep. Pain. The constant pressure to keep going.
Sometimes that load shows up physically: tense muscles, disturbed sleep, sensory overload, brain fog, fatigue and a body that feels permanently on guard.
Then you hear:
“Move more.”
“Try the gym.”
“Exercise will help.”
But where do you start when everything already hurts?
With fibromyalgia, perimenopause, menopause or persistent pain, the fear of a flare-up can become another weight to carry. You want to move—but you also need enough energy left for work, family and everyday life.
This is not always procrastination or a lack of motivation. When the body is under pressure, its fight-or-flight response can increase alertness and muscular guarding. Movement may then feel more demanding or threatening.
The right support can make the first step easier.
Hands-on treatment may reduce tension and temporarily ease discomfort. Passive stretching and joint movement allow the therapist to do some of the work for you.
Gentle, graded exercise can then build mobility, tolerance and confidence. Hydrotherapy can offer another supported way to begin moving.
RMT cannot remove everything you are carrying—but we can listen, assess and help you find a manageable way forward.
Your body. Your pace. Your journey.
