Have you ever noticed that your walking feels fine in the morning, but by the afternoon or evening your pain, stiffness, or discomfort starts to build?

1. Just like a battery gradually drains throughout the day, your joints, muscles, and nervous system can become less tolerant after hours of activity.

2. Walking isn’t the only thing your body is doing. Standing, climbing stairs, carrying shopping, housework, and work activities all contribute to the total load you’ve accumulated.

3. As you get tired, movement patterns can become less efficient, making walking feel harder and sometimes more uncomfortable.

Feeling worse at the end of the day doesn’t automatically mean you’re causing damage. Often, it’s a sign that your current capacity and your daily demands aren’t quite matched yet.

Physiotherapy can help you gradually build that capacity so you can stay active with more confidence and less discomfort.

“High hamstring pain isn’t always “just a pulled muscle.”

Pain deep in the buttock, especially when sitting, running, or accelerating, can sometimes be a sign of proximal hamstring tendinopathy. Recovery requires the right diagnosis and an individualised rehabilitation plan, as treatment will vary depending on the cause, severity, and your goals.

This video highlights some examples of exercises that may be used during rehabilitation, but they’re not suitable for everyone or every stage of recovery.

If you’re struggling with ongoing hamstring or glute pain, it’s worth getting assessed by a physiotherapist to identify the cause and develop a treatment plan that’s right for you.

📩 If you’re unsure what’s causing your pain, get in touch to book an assessment.

Your rehab should reflect you — your symptoms, your lifestyle, your goals, and the things you want to get back to.

That might mean walking further.

Returning to the gym.

Driving comfortably.

Sleeping better.

Or simply getting through the day with less pain.

Exercises are only one part of rehab.

The real value comes from understanding why something hurts and creating a plan that fits your life.
