This beautiful 2-hour workshop is so much more than simply making a candle. It’s an invitation to slow down, awaken your senses and enjoy a little seasonal magic together.

Inspired by golden leaves, crisp air and cosy autumn evenings, you’ll explore a rich selection of seasonal botanicals, natural plant waxes and luxury fragrance blends. From spiced woods and smoky resins to autumn fruits and warming florals, you’ll discover the scents you’re naturally drawn to and create your own signature blend.

You’ll then pour your own botanical candle, made with 100% natural plant wax and the highest-quality fragrance oils from a fine French perfume house. With a beautiful 50-hour burn time, it will be a comforting reminder of your creative afternoon long after the workshop ends.

There’s something incredibly special about creating something with your own hands, choosing each ingredient intuitively and giving your candle a meaning that is entirely yours.

Meet Holly, my little Sekhmet.

When we moved into our home, I had no idea that Upton Country Park was just five minutes down the road. And I certainly had no idea that a cat was about to become one of my greatest teachers.

You see, I always thought I was a dog person. I didn’t particularly think I liked cats. And then Holly came into my life.

Holly has taught me so much about boundaries, energy and the importance of protecting my own space.

After a particularly busy day working with people, she somehow always knows. She will come and sit on me, and I can feel myself settling, releasing the energy of the day and coming back to myself.

She is a wonderful protector of our home, our land and our family.

To me, Holly embodies the energy of Sekhmet, the ancient Egyptian goddess associated with protection, strength and healing.

Cats were deeply revered in ancient Egypt, and I now completely understand why. There is something incredibly special about their presence, their independence and their ability to sense when we need them.

And Holly isn’t finished teaching us yet!

Recently, she has been giving Jenny(our dragon yoga teacher) some rather strong spiritual instructions that we need to create a cat sanctuary at Upton Country Park, a place where cats in need can find safety, love and care.

Who knows where Holly will lead us next?

But one thing is certain. I thought I was a dog person, and Holly has completely changed that.

Feathers have long been seen as sacred messengers between the earthly and spirit worlds.

In many spiritual traditions, feathers carry the symbolic qualities of the bird they belong to.

Peacock feathers are particularly magical, representing protection, beauty, confidence, renewal and the courage to be seen. Their beautiful eyes are often associated with spiritual vision and intuition.

Cinnamon brings another layer of magic. Traditionally associated with warmth, abundance, prosperity and the element of fire, it symbolises the energy of attraction and transformation.

Together, peacock feathers and cinnamon unite the elements of air and fire, symbolically amplifying our intentions and inviting abundance, protection and new possibilities into our lives.

Sometimes magic begins with the intention we place into the simplest things.

Have you ever wondered how our ritual candles are made?

Here’s a little glimpse behind the scenes of how Lisa creates her beautiful candles and teaches her candle-making workshops.

I was so excited when Lisa taught me this special skill. What I loved most was discovering that making these candles is so much more than simply melting wax and adding fragrance.

Each candle is created with a special intention, using a gentle swirling motion as she pours her energy and wishes into it.

I use Lisa’s Clarity candle during my hypnotherapy sessions, and something I find beautiful is how often my clients tell me afterwards that they woke up feeling a sense of clarity. Just like the name of the candle.

I love the idea that when we light a candle, the flame, the scent and the intention placed into it are released into the space around us. Almost as though we’re sending our wishes out into the ether.

For me, that’s what makes Lisa’s candles so special. They’re not just candles. They’re little rituals created with love, care and intention.

And I’m so pleased that Lisa is sharing this beautiful skill through her workshops (Rock & Rose Rituals).

The Ancient Tree That Inspired Rock & Rose Rituals

Did you know that the story of Rock & Rose began with a very special tree in Scotland?

Deep in the Scottish Highlands stands the Fortingall Yew, one of the oldest living trees in Europe, believed to be thousands of years old.

This ancient tree has witnessed generations of human history, quietly growing and surviving through centuries of change.

For Lisa, this tree became something much more than a beautiful part of nature.

In 2020, Lisa spent three days connecting deeply with the Fortingall Yew. During this experience, she felt a profound connection to the wisdom of the Earth and received the inspiration that would eventually become Rock & Rose.

It was here that the idea of bringing ritual bathing back into our everyday lives began to take shape.

Lisa felt guided to create something beyond ordinary candles. Each candle would carry the essence of a plant, a meaningful message and a mantra, inviting people to slow down, reconnect with themselves and experience the beauty of nature in a more intentional way.

And that is how Rock & Rose was born.

What I find especially beautiful about Lisa’s story is the reminder that nature has so much to offer us when we give ourselves permission to slow down and listen.

Sometimes, the most meaningful inspiration doesn’t come from doing more, but from becoming still enough to notice what has always been around us.

And perhaps that is something we could all benefit from remembering.

The Knackered Chefs…

A little hello for all the new faces here. I'm Lisa Marie, founder of Rock & Rose Rituals, Conkers Magical Earth Academy & Rock & Rose Adventures.

Many moons ago I ran a rather large catering company in London, feeding thousands of people on film and TV sets. We worked on the Hobbit film and The Crown for Netflix, but of my favourite jobs was feeding and his whole crew on his cooking shows, they were just lovely. Yes, that's us in the picture: the original Naked Chef and me, the knackered one.

It was an amazing adventure. It was also complete insanity. Up at 4am, cooking all day, then home to menus, quotes and admin until 1am. Seven days a week.

So of course, I burned out completely. It took me three years to recover, and I spent nearly four years living in my van, sleeping in the forests of Scotland. That's where my magic came back to me… and that's why I do what I do now here and pouring this magic into my little school for extraordinary (all are) children like Jamie and me who didn’t fit mainstream .

These days I live slowly. Presently. I notice the little things. I practise gratitude every single day; it's as natural to me as brushing my teeth. When you're grateful for the small things, they grow and grow and grow, and before you know it you're living a life of pure wonder and joy.

I do lots of lovely things, and I refuse to work hard. I simply don't need to.

🌿 Clear the Old Energy & Welcome in the New 🌹

As autumn settles in, our windows and doors stay closed a little more often, and our homes can begin to feel heavy or stagnant.

This is a beautiful time to bring back the ancient ritual of saging and energy cleansing.

Our gorgeous new sage bundles, wrapped with cedar and rose petals, have just arrived at Rock & Rose Rituals!

Each plant brings its own traditional meaning. Sage is used for cleansing and clearing, cedar for protection and grounding, and rose petals for love, harmony and gentle heart energy.

As you move through your home with your sage bundle, set an intention to release anything that no longer belongs in your space.

Open a door or window and allow the energy to move out. Let the wind carry it away, the rain cleanse it and the sun transform it. Trust the elements of nature to take care of what you are ready to release.

Sometimes a simple ritual is all we need to feel a little lighter, more connected and at peace in our own home.

Me, shovel in hand, the day I first opened Rock & Rose Rituals and Conkers Magical Earth Academy.

I'd arrived down from Scotland knowing nobody, with £200 to my name. And somehow I manifested the keys to this marvellous building, right here in 160 glorious acres of Upton Country Park. Build it and they will come…

Everything I've ever done has come from following the little callings of my heart, and they never, ever make logical sense. That's the beauty of a soul path. It asks us to drop out of our heads and into our heart intelligence. Your heart always knows the way, and mine has never once led me astray.

To those of you who've been here since the very beginning, back when it was a couple of shelves, a few wands and little jam jars full of glitter: thank you, thank you, thank you, from the very centre of my heart. Together we've now shared the magic with thousands of children and families from all around the world.

So here's what I know for sure. Your dream needs one thing from you: a vision you believe in with every cell of your being, followed ruthlessly. The money finds its way. The people find their way. So pop on your big girl pants and pick up that shovel.
