The North West regional figures show we need to take action:

• In Cheshire, breast cancer prevalence is 24% higher than the national average.
• In Liverpool, it is 8% higher than the England average.
• Across the North West, prevalence exceeds 2,000 cases per 100,000 people.

While these figures relate to female breast cancer, men can develop breast cancer too. It’s rarer, but awareness matters for everyone.

Behind every figure is someone whose life has been affected, alongside families, friends and communities.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the importance of funding research that puts our region’s cancer needs first.

How does radiotherapy work? Who is involved in a patient’s care? And what happens from referral through to follow-up?
The Cancer Academy has an introductory learning course on the fundamentals of radiotherapy, including treatment planning and delivery, the patient journey, the radiotherapy team, common side effects and patient support.
It is ideal for anyone working within a department, or those who want to better understand radiotherapy and support patients receiving treatment.

This November, the Garden of Light glows inside St Luke’s Bombed Out Church, Liverpool.

More than 1,800 illuminated flowers, each one representing someone special. 💖

Why dedicate a flower?

🌼 To mark your own journey, wherever you are on it
🌼 To thank a member of hospital staff or a ward who made a difference
🌼 To remember someone you love
