**PROTECTED LEARNING**

The practice takes part in a number of Protected Learning Time (PLT) events throughout the year. This dedicated time allows the practice the opportunity to close for the afternoon to carry out essential staff training and address learning and professional development needs for the whole practice team. Protected Learning Time also allows us as a practice to improve on our service delivery and ensure we are providing a high standard of care to our patient population.

We would like to advise you that the practice will be closed for a PLT event on the following date

Tuesday 25th August 1pm-5.30pm

Between the hours of 1pm-5.30pm on this day, if you require urgent medical attention which cannot wait until the following day to be seen by your GP, please telephone the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service on 01563 826930 and a member of staff will be able to assist you with your enquiry. The Ayrshire Urgent Care Service will provide a clinical assessment where required and if you require to be seen by a GP within these hours, your GP Practice will contact you directly.

**Important Information: New Website**

From 20th October, our practice website will be moving to a new website provider

Our current website provider is ceasing trading, which means we need to transfer our website to a new platform.

We would like to reassure patients that:

• Our website address will remain exactly the same, there is no need to update any bookmarks or saved links.
• The look, content and navigation of the new website will be very similar to the current site, making it easy to find the information and services you need.
• All of the key information and online services you currently use will continue to be available.

**Changes to Online Prescription Requests**

The new website operates a simpler prescription request form.

What's changing:
• You will no longer need to log into an account to submit a prescription request online.
• Instead, there will be a simple online form where you enter your details and list the medication you require.

Why do I need to enter my medication each time?
• For GDPR and data protection reasons, the system cannot store your repeat medication list.
• This means you will need to type in the items you require each time you submit a prescription request.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this transition. If you experience any difficulties using the new website after 20th October, please contact the practice and we will be happy to help.
