Today, Ben and Shane had the pleasure of being invited to Chatham Town FC, who we are proud to sponsor.

It was fantastic to celebrate Chat’s achievements throughout the season, hear about the club’s exciting future plans, and learn more about the incredible work they do within the local community.

A great club with strong community values, we’re proud to support their journey and look forward to what’s ahead. UP THE CHATS!

Today, the dedicated team at the Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors is launching a national campaign to better inform and support families when making funeral choices and caring for a loved one after death.

In recent years, heavily funded advertising campaigns have increasingly promoted direct cremation, often presenting it as a simple, low-cost option and positioning it as the default choice.

Direct cremation has always been available, and for some families it is the right decision. However, many people tell us they did not fully understand the process or realise they could still receive guidance, have conversations, and access personal support rather than navigating everything through an online form alone. Some families later reflect that they would have valued the opportunity to pause, talk things through, and consider more carefully how they wanted to say goodbye.

Funerals are not only about honouring the person who has died; they are also for those left behind. They provide a meaningful, human moment to acknowledge loss, share memories, and mark a life in a way that feels right for each family.

We stand alongside independent funeral directors across the country in sharing a simple message: whatever choice is made, families deserve clear information, genuine compassion, and the reassurance of speaking to a real person who can support them every step of the way.
