Cupcake Decorating Fun at The Devonshire! 🧁

Our residents had a wonderful time getting creative during our cupcake decorating activity! The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of colourful icing, sprinkles, and delicious toppings as everyone designed their own unique cupcakes.

This enjoyable activity was not only a chance to express creativity but also helped encourage fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, decision-making, and social interaction. Residents loved sharing ideas, chatting with one another, and admiring each other's beautiful creations.

Of course, the best part came at the end—everyone enjoyed tasting their delicious cupcakes with a nice cup of tea, making it a perfect afternoon filled with fun, friendship, and sweet treats.

At The Devonshire Care Home, we love creating meaningful activities that bring joy, encourage independence, and create lasting memories for our residents.

Fun-Filled Day in Apple Blossom Community! 🎈
Our residents in the Apple Blossom Community had a wonderful day filled with laughter, movement, and meaningful social interaction. The morning was full of fun as everyone enjoyed balloon exercises, stretching their arms, improving coordination, and keeping active while sharing plenty of smiles and happy conversations.

In the afternoon, the fun continued with a selection of board games, where residents enjoyed friendly competition, teamwork, and lots of laughter. These activities not only encourage physical movement and cognitive stimulation but also provide valuable opportunities for residents to socialise, build friendships, and create special memories together.

It's always a pleasure to see our residents engaged, active, and enjoying each other's company. Moments like these truly make our home a happy and vibrant place to live. 💙

A Meaningful Communion & Church Service 🙏

We were honoured to welcome our local church into our care home for a beautiful Communion and Church Service. It was a peaceful and uplifting time, giving our residents the opportunity to come together in prayer, reflection, worship, and fellowship.
The service brought comfort, hope, and a wonderful sense of community, with residents enjoying familiar hymns, prayers, and the sharing of Holy Communion. For many, it was a chance to reconnect with cherished traditions and strengthen their faith in a warm and supportive environment.

We understand how important spiritual wellbeing is, and we are committed to supporting our residents' individual beliefs and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to practise their faith with dignity and respect.

There's never a dull moment in our home, with our residents enjoying a wide variety of meaningful activities throughout the week and over the weekend. From exciting games of bingo and friendly board games to relaxing reminiscence sessions, every activity is designed to bring joy, encourage social interaction, and support wellbeing.

Some of our talented residents shared their love of music by playing the piano, filling our home with beautiful melodies, while others enjoyed the calming effects of sensory light therapy, creating a peaceful and relaxing environment.

Seeing our residents smiling, laughing, sharing memories, and spending quality time together is what makes these moments so special. Every activity is tailored to encourage independence, stimulate the mind, and create meaningful experiences for everyone.

A Wonderful Ice Cream Van Visit! 🍦

Last Friday, our residents enjoyed a fantastic visit from the ice cream van, bringing smiles, laughter, and lots of delicious treats! The sunny weather made it the perfect afternoon to relax outdoors and enjoy everyone's favourite flavours.

At our home, we believe every resident should be included. Our bed-bound residents didn't miss out either—we made sure they received their favourite ice creams in the comfort of their own rooms, so they could also be part of the special experience.
It was heartwarming to see so many happy faces and hear wonderful memories being shared over a simple ice cream. Moments like these create joy, bring people together, and make lasting memories for everyone.

✨🎈 A Fun and Relaxing Afternoon in Our Hummingbird Community 🎶✨

Residents in our Hummingbird Community enjoyed an afternoon of balloon exercises followed by a calming sensory light therapy session with their favourite music playing in the background. The balloon games encouraged gentle movement and lots of laughter, while the sensory lights and familiar songs created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

🎈Balloon Exercises – A lively session full of laughter, gentle movement, and friendly competition, helping to boost coordination and wellbeing.

✨Sensory Activities – Calming sessions with different textures, sounds, and colours, providing relaxation, comfort, and meaningful moments.

🧶Knitting Circle – Residents enjoyed chatting, sharing stories, and creating beautiful handmade pieces together.
