Our residents had a fantastic week filled with fun, laughter, and engagement! 😊
They enjoyed a variety of activities including sensory sessions, OMI games, hand exercises, target games, and much more. These activities helped promote wellbeing, social interaction, and physical activity while creating lots of smiles and happy memories.
It has been wonderful to see everyone participating, having fun, and supporting one another throughout the week. ❤️

Beach day fun in the garden 🏖️🌞

With the beautiful sunshine, we brought the seaside to us and created our own little beach outdoors. There were plenty of smiles as everyone dipped their feet in the water, felt the sand between their toes, and enjoyed the relaxed, seaside feel.

It was lovely hearing stories of past holidays and family trips while enjoying ice lollies in the sun. A simple afternoon that brought lots of laughter, great memories, and a real summer atmosphere ☀️🍦💙

Live Music Fun After Our Summer BBQ 🎤🎶

After enjoying our wonderful summer BBQ, our residents continued the celebrations with an amazing live music session from our fantastic singer Tony! 🌞❤️

As the weather became hotter outside, we made sure our residents stayed comfortable by moving everyone indoors, where the fun and entertainment continued in a cool and relaxing atmosphere. 🏡☀️

Tony kept everyone entertained with a brilliant selection of songs that had our residents singing along, clapping, dancing, and smiling throughout the afternoon. Music always brings such joy and wonderful memories, and it was lovely to see everyone so happy and engaged together. 💃🕺🎵

The room was filled with laughter, cheerful conversations, and lots of dancing as both residents and staff enjoyed the special performance. Moments like these truly help create meaningful experiences and bring everyone together as one big family. ❤️

A huge thank you to Tony for another fantastic performance and to all our lovely staff for helping make the day so enjoyable for our residents. We are already looking forward to more summer celebrations, music, and happy memories together! 🌸✨

Our residents at Devonshire Care Home had a wonderful time enjoying a variety of sensory activities today! 💛✨

From using the Omi sensory equipment to exploring different sensory experiences on the More Portal, everyone was fully engaged and enjoying themselves. Residents loved watching the calming visuals, listening to soothing sounds, and interacting with the different sensory activities that encouraged relaxation, focus, and enjoyment.

These activities are not only fun but also very beneficial for our residents’ wellbeing. Sensory sessions help stimulate memories, encourage communication, improve concentration, and provide comfort and relaxation. It was lovely to see so many smiles, laughter, and happy reactions throughout the sessions.
Some residents enjoyed the interactive sensory games, while others preferred simply watching the relaxing sensory displays and music, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere for everyone involved. 🌈🎶

At Devonshire Care Home, we always aim to provide meaningful activities that support our residents emotionally, mentally, and socially while making every day enjoyable and engaging. Seeing our residents happy, relaxed, and actively involved truly makes our day special.

At Devonshire Care Home, our balloon exercises and target ring games have become a real favourite among our residents! 🎈🎯

These fun and interactive activities bring so much joy, laughter, and excitement to everyone, whether they are joining us in the lounge or participating from the comfort of their rooms. It is wonderful to see both our lounge residents and bed-bound residents getting involved, smiling, and cheering each other on.

The balloon exercises help encourage gentle movement, coordination, and social interaction, while the target ring game adds a little friendly competition and plenty of fun. Most importantly, these activities create happy moments, boost confidence, and keep everyone engaged and active in a way that suits their abilities.

Seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces and hearing the laughter around the home truly makes these sessions special. 💛

Our residents have been enjoying a variety of sensory and interactive activities designed to stimulate the mind, encourage movement, and bring joy to their day. 💛

From solving puzzles and crosswords to completing activity sheets, these sessions help support cognitive skills, concentration, and memory in a fun and engaging way. 🧠✨

Music continues to be a favourite, creating a relaxing and uplifting atmosphere. Whether listening, singing along, or simply enjoying the rhythm, it brings comfort and happiness to everyone involved. 🎶😊

We also included gentle ball exercises, promoting light physical activity, coordination, and teamwork. It’s wonderful to see residents encouraging each other and sharing smiles during these sessions. ⚽🤝

These sensory activities provide not only stimulation but also a sense of achievement, social connection, and overall wellbeing. Every activity is tailored to ensure our residents feel included, supported, and happy. 🌈

Moments like these truly highlight the importance of meaningful engagement in enhancing quality of life!

Our residents had a truly wonderful time embracing the joys of summer with a delightful gardening session! The sunshine lifted everyone’s spirits as we stepped outdoors to make the most of the beautiful weather.

Residents were actively involved in choosing what they would like to plant, from colourful flowers to fresh herbs. It was lovely to see everyone sharing their ideas and preferences, making the activity both meaningful and personal. 🌸🌱
We also explored different herbs, with residents selecting their favourites to grow - a great way to connect with familiar scents, memories, and even cooking traditions. 🌿

To make the experience even more enjoyable, we had music playing in the background, creating a cheerful and relaxing atmosphere. There was plenty of laughter, conversation, and smiles all around as everyone got involved. 🎶😊

Activities like these not only encourage creativity and independence but also promote wellbeing and a sense of achievement. It was a beautiful day filled with fresh air, positivity, and togetherness.

We’re already looking forward to watching our plants grow and continuing our gardening journey!
