I had some minor surgery on some veins in my legs this week. I wont share the graphic images - Safe to say that I look like a Cabbage patch kid who got kicked around the store room before being discarded!

I was told it was "minimally invasive" & I could carry on with my day to day life as normal.

I was informed most people say it is uncomfortable, but not painful.

Apparently I am not most people! It was fcking agony - Probably not helped by my anxiety kicking in.

I am glad I didnt listen to the whole "You can go about your normal life" thing and booked the week off work, as for 3 days, I felt pretty horrific.

Anxiety, an adrenaline crash, local anaesthetic & Ibuprofen = A chemical & emotional s**t storm.

Do I regret it? - Too early to say - I am hoping once I can take these hideously uncomfortable compression stockings off & once the bruising goes down, that I may see some progress.

I wanted to share for anyone considering this "minimally invasive" procedure, what the real deal is! If you look it up on socials or online, you get the glory tale. It isn't like that at all!

I didn't skip out the clinic doors, showing off my legs, like they do in the videos, twirling around & feeling grateful...

I felt miserable, and time will tell if I regret putting myself through this or not. (I do right now!).

I wanted to speak out, because we are living in an era that cosmetic procedures are seemingly as common and risk free as going to the dentist these days. (I dont particularly like the dentist either, but am fortunate enough to have an amazing one!).

Sometimes cosmetic procedures aren’t about vanity — they’re about health, prevention, comfort, and confidence. They are also about Vulnerability, self‑consciousness, and the pressure to “look good".

But are they worth it?

Its always a pleasure to treat this lovely gentleman, who came for his regular massage this morning.

I love that part of my job that allows people to unwind & de-stress. It's at the core of all of my treatments.

I had the best day yesterday bringing my Reflexology workshop to life.

It’s been a long time in the making, and it felt great to finally share it & give others some useful tools they can safely use at home with their friends & family.

Hearing that the attendees loved it too, has honestly made my week.

Both were so lovely, and absolute naturals with the techniques, so it was an absolute pleasure to work with them.

Next workshop: Saturday 4th July

Time: 10am–1pm

Price: £95 per person.

If you’d like to join, just send me a message or book via my page.

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, specialised reflexology technique that supports the lymphatic system — helping reduce swelling, improve circulation and ease discomfort.

Originally developed by Sally Kay while working in cancer care, RLD focuses on stimulating lymphatic reflex points on the feet to encourage natural drainage and balance.

It’s particularly beneficial for those managing secondary lymphoedema after cancer treatment, and may also help with certain autoimmune conditions.

This is not a massage like Manual Lymphatic Drainage — t’s a reflexology‑based approach, designed to work with your body’s own rhythm.

* For lymphoedema, the recommended plan is one session per week for six weeks, followed by a maintenance routine.

My clever husband has made me a stand for the Dermalux, so that I can use it for MSK issues as well as the Face.

(once I have jumped through hoops & travelled to London to do a Face to Face course next month to keep the Insurance company happy 😬),

It has been a godsend using it on my back, as it flared up this week, but I had to rest it on my skin, because the official stand has a back to it. I ended up with red dots on my ass! 🤣

So now I can use it safely on my back, and for people with knee problems etc. (next month).

He's not that clever though, as in his demo on me, he has it upside down, so it would just create a disco bulb if he had actually switched it on! 🤣🤣
