Nom nom nom!!! 🍰

It’s amazing what I’ll do to justify a piece of cake!

I found myself deliberately hacking out the first slice so the end would “need neatening up”… and ta da… a second slice became absolutely necessary. 😂

The worst part? I did this while I was home alone! No one was watching… apart from my conscience, which was very much being ignored. 😇😈

The cake force is strong with this one. 😂

☀️ We talk so much about how children feel at the end of term, and especially the end of the school year, but what about us?

You’re so nearly there. The kids are frazzled, you’re frazzled, and that lovely looming six weeks of summer holidays brings up all sorts.

How’s the childcare going to work? How on earth are you going to entertain them all?

I just want to say I see you, and I’m right there with you. The end of term can be painful and exciting all at once.

But somehow as mums and dads we’re somehow supposed to feel it all and hold it all together, and still be the carriers of our children’s emotions… it’s a lot!

So do what you have to, to get through the next few days as we slowly limp to the end of term…

Breathe through it. Get outside. Be kind to yourself.

Remember, you’re allowed to find this hard too. 🤍

This is Neurospicy grown up! I love it when our sons get together.

They share passions, can truly be themselves, love hard and laugh a lot!

It’s not always been like this… there’s been testing of boundaries, risk-taking (terrifying as parents,) shouting (lots,) tears (mainly me,) difficulties academically, lateness… (we’re always late for everything!)

BUT

They are my heart - they are 100 percent why I do what I do… I love their individuality, their creativity, their energy. It makes me tick, it makes them tick.

I am so grateful that I can share what they have taught me. To embrace our wild, embrace our uniqueness, love our differences.

☀️ This arrived on my doorstep this week and I literally tore open the box! 😂

☀️ Psychoeducation is such a powerful part of coaching. Helping children understand their brain often brings a real sense of relief.

In sessions, children feel lighter.

“Oh, it’s normal” or “I’m not the only one who feels like this.”

They start to understand the brain is just doing its job.

☀️ I can’t wait to use this with some of the younger children I work with. I have a feeling it’s going to start some fab conversations.

☀️ Meet Sebastian.

☀️ A recent coaching session went completely off plan, in the best way.

☀️ A child took the lead. I followed them. We dug in the earth, found this stone, and Sebastian slowly took shape from there.

☀️ No agenda. No right or wrong. Just space to create, get stuck in and lead the way.

☀️ Nature has a way of doing that, giving children room to be exactly who they are that day.

☀️ I love Sebastian. ❤️
