Great to have these two at Trident HQ yesterday. who trains here, we’ve worked together on projects and become friends over the last 5 years, and who shared some priceless insights on inclusivity in the fitness industry.
Both legends in their sport, and their tireless work to raise awareness and provide solutions to make workplaces more accessible for people with disabilities.

Where you grow up shouldn’t determine how long you live well.

Recent data in the link below shows that healthy life expectancy differs across Greater Manchester.
In Rochdale, we are statistically living fewer years in good health compared to some neighbouring areas.

That isn’t about motivation.
It isn’t about people “not trying hard enough.”

It’s about access.
It’s about education.
It’s about opportunity.

That’s exactly why we run Well Strong.

Through the Well Foundation , the Well Strong programme is designed to:

• Give young people access to structured strength and conditioning
• Build coordination, resilience and confidence early
• Remove financial barriers to quality coaching
• Create a safe environment where movement feels normal, not intimidating

We’re not just running sessions.

We’re building physical literacy.
We’re building habits.
We’re building belief.

And future projects will go even further:
• More youth participation in underserved areas
• Stronger links with schools and community groups
• Clear pathways from participation into sport, leadership and coaching
• Family-focused health initiatives

We can’t rewrite the current statistics.

But we can absolutely influence the next generation’s.

If healthy life expectancy is lower here, then we work harder here.
