🌟 Rotherham Safe Space at the Launch of Rotherham's All-Age Carers Strategy & Carer Connect 🌟

Today, we had the pleasure of attending the launch of Rotherham's All-Age Carers Strategy 2026–2031 and Carer Connect at Rotherham United Football Club.

It was fantastic to meet so many professionals, organisations, and individuals who are passionate about supporting unpaid carers across Rotherham. The event highlighted the importance of working together to ensure carers of all ages can access the right support, at the right time, and in the right way.

We were proud to host a stall showcasing the support available through Rotherham Safe Space, sharing information about our free out-of-hours mental health crisis support, one-to-one emotional support, wellbeing groups, and the welcoming environment we provide for adults across Rotherham.

Events like these are a great opportunity to strengthen partnerships, raise awareness of mental health support, and connect with services that make a real difference to our communities.

A huge thank you to the organisers for inviting us to be part of such an important launch. We look forward to continuing to work alongside partners across Rotherham to support both carers and the people they care for.

πŸ—“οΈβœ¨ Hello June! βœ¨πŸ—“οΈ

As we say goodbye to May, we want to take a moment to celebrate the completion of our fantastic collaborative arts project with Empowering Men Initiative CICπŸŽ¨πŸ’™

Over the past month, our Saturday Arts & Crafts groups have come together to create some truly incredible pieces of artwork. The creativity, dedication, and community spirit shown throughout the project has been amazing, and we can't wait to reveal the finished results in our newly renovated upstairs space! 🌈✨

Now it's time to look ahead to June, and we're excited for everything the month has in store. Alongside our regular groups, one-to-one support, we've got some exciting developments happening behind the scenes...

πŸ‘€ Including the launch of our brand-new social space, designed to give individuals even more opportunities to connect, relax, and feel supported within Rotherham Safe Space.

There’s lots more to come, so keep an eye on our page for updates, sneak peeks, and announcements over the coming weeks!

As always, our Crisis & Emotional Support service remains available:
πŸ“ž Face-to-face and telephone support
πŸ•• Thursday to Monday, 6pm–12am

We can't wait to see what June brings! πŸ’™

🎨✨ Week 3 Progress Update ✨🎨

Our collaborative arts project is continuing to come to life, and the progress so far has been incredible! πŸ™Œ

Week by week, these canvases are being transformed through creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. From bright colours and rainbows to butterflies, flowers, and powerful imagery representing growth and healing πŸŒˆπŸ¦‹πŸŒΈ

It’s been amazing to watch everyone add their own ideas and personal touches to each piece. The atmosphere each Saturday has been full of creativity, conversation, support, and community spirit πŸ’™

These artworks are becoming more than just paintings, they are a reflection of hope, recovery, individuality, and coming together as a community.

A huge thank you to everyone involved so far. We can’t wait to continue seeing these masterpieces develop over the coming weeks! ✨

We had the lovely opportunity this week to join Rotherham Ethnic Minority Alliance (REMA) on their Mental Health Awareness Week walk, and what an amazing day it was.

I think it’s safe to say there was definitely a colour theme for the day… can you guess what it was?

It was incredible to see so many people coming together to promote positive mental health, wellbeing, community connection and support. The walk created such a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere, giving people the chance to talk, connect and remind each other that nobody has to struggle alone.

REMA do some fantastic work within the community, supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds through advice, guidance, activities, wellbeing support and opportunities that help people feel connected and empowered. It was a privilege to be part of such an important event alongside them.

We loved seeing everyone engage with the mental health displays, wellbeing resources and self-care packs throughout the day.

Conversations around mental health are so important and events like this help break stigma, encourage openness and remind people that support is always available.

A huge thank you to REMA for inviting us and for all the amazing work you continue to do within Rotherham.

We are so proud to have had the opportunity to be part of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week

At Rotherham Safe Space, we see every day how important it is to start conversations around mental health and remind people that they are never alone. This year’s theme, Taking Action, is such a powerful message because action can look different for everyone, whether that’s reaching out for support, checking in on a loved one, attending a group, taking time for yourself, or simply making it through another day.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and shared their experiences so openly and honestly.

We are incredibly proud to stand alongside our community in raising awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging people to seek support when they need it.

Every conversation matters. Every step matters. πŸ’™
