📢 New NHS MenB Vaccination Programme for Students Starting University or Residential Further Education

A new, time-limited NHS MenB vaccination programme will begin from July 2026 for eligible young people at increased risk of meningococcal disease.

The programme will be delivered through participating community pharmacies, with eligible students being contacted about how to book.

You may be eligible if you are:
✅ Currently in Year 13 (or equivalent across the UK)
✅ An undergraduate student starting university for the first time in Autumn 2026 and turning 25 after 31 December 2026
✅ Moving into residential further education accommodation or halls of residence for the first time in Autumn 2026 and turning 25 after 31 December 2026

The MenB vaccine helps protect against meningitis and septicaemia, serious infections that can become life-threatening. Two doses are required for full protection.

Dan spent years working as a farrier, but the physical wear and tear eventually forced him to stop.

We are aware of rumours circulating on social media suggesting that Padstow Surgery is closing.

We would like to reassure our patients and the wider community that these rumours are completely false. There have been no discussions about closing Padstow Surgery, and there are no plans to do so. The claims being shared are entirely fabricated and should not be regarded as factual.

As many patients know, our triage team is based in St Columb. On occasion, when a patient needs to be seen urgently and all available appointments at Padstow have been filled for the day, they may be offered an appointment at St Columb instead. This arrangement helps us ensure patients receive timely care when it is needed most.

We fully understand the importance of having a local surgery serving the Padstow community, and our commissioners share that understanding. There are no plans by any party to change this.

We would encourage patients to seek information directly from the practice and to be cautious about unverified information shared online.
