🩸 Arterial Bleed Emergency 🩸

Techno was rushed to our out-of-hours service after developing a large wound along his back right leg, which was causing significant bleeding.

Thankfully, his owners acted quickly and applied firm pressure and a tight bandage before bringing him straight to us. This prompt first aid helped to control the bleeding while Techno was on his way to the practice. ❤️‍🩹

Our out-of-hours team, Sarah, one of our experienced vets, and Katie, our veterinary nurse, took Techno straight to theatre. They successfully ligated the damaged artery, stopped the bleeding and carefully closed the wound.

Techno stayed with us overnight so we could closely monitor him and make sure there was no further bleeding. Thankfully, he recovered well and was ready to head home the following day! 🥰🐾

A great reminder that quick action can make all the difference in an emergency

🐰 𝙃𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙍𝙖𝙗𝙗𝙞𝙩 𝘿𝙖𝙮! 🐰

What better way to celebrate than by sharing the story of gorgeous Ethel and her incredible recovery! ❤️

Ethel recently underwent surgery to remove a 𝙉𝙚𝙥𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙖, a tumour affecting one of her kidneys. Her affected kidney was successfully removed and weighed an impressive 210g!

The surgery was carried out by 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙩, Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery, and 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙩𝙮, Advanced Practitioner in Cardiology and Certificate Holder in Medicine.

We’re delighted to say that Ethel has made a full recovery and is now back to her usual sassy self! 🥰🐇

A huge well done to Ethel for being such a brave little patient. We’re so pleased to see her back to doing what rabbits do best — keeping everyone on their toes! 💕🐰

Princess Parker! 💜

This beautiful spotty girl was referred to us by Vets4Pets Bodmin last week for a laparoscopic spay procedure.

This minimally invasive procedure uses small incisions and a camera to perform surgery, resulting in less discomfort, reduced pain, and a quicker recovery compared to a traditional spay.

Thanks to this procedure, Parker will be able to get back to her happy, tail-wagging self much sooner 🐶
