If you have been considering therapy or been curious about how it might work for you, then now is the time to get in touch.

I have availability over the next couple of weeks to arrange initial appointments with those interested in starting or continuing their therapy journey in September.

So get in touch and let’s get something in the diary to explore what you are currently experiencing and see if we might be a good fit.

There’s no obligation to book any sessions and the initial appointment is free so there really is nothing to lose in getting in touch.

I look forward to hearing from you, Rosy 🌼

Keep on going … but gently … because sometimes life is less about finding hope through effort, and more about the experience of being unexpectedly stopped by it.

When was the last time something small such as a ray of sunlight through the trees, a birdsong, or the warmth of a mug in your hands, gently interrupted the weight you were carrying?

If that question feels difficult to answer, or if life’s demands rarely leave you with room to pause, then perhaps therapy can offer a space for you to slow down, to reconnect with yourself, and to notice what has been there all along.

Get in touch,
Rosy ☀️

Anxiety is often misunderstood as THE problem

If we recognise it, however, as something which develops to protect s from pain, rejection, uncertainty, or experiences which once felt too overwhelming to face we can then see how anxiety can be a form of emotional armour.

Like armour, your anxiety response may have been essential for your survival at one time.
But over time, what once kept us safe can become so heavy that it limits how freely we live, connect and experience joy.

Therapy isn’t about getting rid of anxiety, or ripping that armour away.
It’s about gently understanding why it was needed, appreciating the protection it has offered, and discovering whether there are moments when it can be set down safely.
Often, healing begins not by fighting our anxiety, but by becoming curious about what it has been trying so hard to protect.

How about you?
Have you ever wondered what your anxiety might be protecting you from, rather than seeing it as something that’s simply “wrong” with you?

🌳 📚 Teachings from the trees …

This morning I purposefully took some time to myself, to allow my fingertips to explore the bark of ancient tress, pausing to trace and admire their every groove, knot, and weathered line.
Those very lines and grooves which are recognised, on trees, as the symbolism of character, resilience, and wisdom. We marvel at the stories they must hold, the seasons they have survived, and the quiet strength they embody simply by continuing to stand. 🌴 Trees are silently magical. ✨

I took this picture and noticed … not just the lines and patterns of the beautiful tree trunks … but the grooves and imperfections of my own outer skin … and how even the language used quickly shifted from beauty almost to disgust when applied to self …

I began to reflect how somehow, when we catch sight of the lines around our own eyes, the softness of our changing bodies, or the marks left by the experiences of a life fully lived, we don’t tend to hold the same awe and wonder. Instead, we often reach for words like flawed, old, or ugly. We often feel the need to apologise or hide those beautiful expressions of our lives.

What if we borrowed the same compassion we offer the trees? What if every line on our face was evidence of laughter, tears, perseverance and love? What if our bodies, like the trunks of old trees, were not becoming less beautiful with time, but more deeply rooted in the stories they carry?

I wonder …
I wonder … what that would be like?
I wonder … if we could notice the same silent magic within ourselves as we do within the trees?
I wonder … if you looked at yourself as you look at nature, what might you begin to see differently, how would that change the relationship with self?
I wonder …

How about you? … is there a part of your face or body that you’ve struggled to appreciate? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how it might change if you viewed it as a story rather than a flaw?

☀️ When the weather gets hotter, many neurodivergent people find life gets harder ☀️

Heatwaves can be MORE than just uncomfortable.

For those with sensory sensitivities, rising temperatures can bring overwhelm, irritability, fatigue, headaches, sleep disruption, and a nervous system that feels permanently “on edge.”

☀️ Clothes feel wrong
☀️ Noise feels louder
☀️ Concentration becomes harder
☀️ Emotional regulation takes more effort

Yet because everyone is experiencing the same weather, these struggles can be dismissed as “being overly dramatic”, “negative”, or that we’re somehow “just not coping very well.”

Many neurodivergent adults have spent years wondering why they seem to find things harder than everyone else. Heatwaves can reignite feelings of being different, difficult, or somehow getting life wrong.

But struggling in the heat does not mean you’re weak … it means that your nervous system is working hard!

Understanding your needs is not an excuse … it’s self-knowledge!

Maybe self-care during a heatwave isn’t pushing through:
💧 Maybe it’s cancelling plans
💦 Closing the curtains
💧 Wearing the clothes that feel comfortable
💦 Taking more breaks
💧 Allowing yourself to be affected

Because accepting who you are INCLUDES accepting your sensory needs too.

Your experience IS real, even when others don’t see it!

SO much amazing creativity from my clients and supervisees this week!

Here’s just a few examples of the processes I’ve supported exploration through:

🌿 therapy cards
🌱 nesting dolls
🌿 stones, shells and pine cones
🌱 metaphors
🌿 journal work
🌱 emotion mapping and scaling
🌿 movement and energy work
🌱 letter writing
🌿 breathwork
🌱 mindfulness
🌿 adventure maps
🌱 sand and symbols

I’m tired out just looking at that list yet also in awe at the many many different ways there are to creatively explore and express our inner worlds. 💚

Each and every one of my clients and supervisees are unique and wonderful ✨ … and so they are all deserving of an approach which meets them in the moment exactly where and as they are.

(equally thankful for all the amazing creators and illustrators of the resources pictured here and the many others that produce wonderfully meaningful and emotive resources)
