Recent news from Hull has understandably raised concerns about the care and standards families should expect from a funeral director. We ourselves are shocked and saddened that this has happened to these families.

At Herbert Murray, we're proud to be a National Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF independent funeral directors) member and part of a community of independent funeral directors committed to professional and compassionate care.

We're regularly inspected and voluntarily regulated under the UK Funeral Director Code. Families also have access to an independent complaints process through SAIF, delivered by an externally audited and Chartered Trading Standards Institute-certified body.

We hope these safeguards offer added reassurance that families and their loved ones will be treated with care, dignity and respect.

Sometimes, people ask, "Why are you called a Funeral Celebrant? What is there to celebrate at a funeral?"
Today's service at Manchester Crematorium illustrated precisely why.
Family and friends of all ages gathered to say goodbye to a lady who not only knew how to enjoy life, but whose love and devotion to her family was clear and absolute, from beginning to end.
With lovely floral tributes and buttonholes provided by Herbert Murray Funeral Directors, it was a real and joyous celebration of the life, love and influence of a much-loved Mum, Nan and Great-nan.

The summer plants have now arrived and the village is looking lovely and colourful again 🌸🌿

A big thank you to everyone who helps keep the planters looking their best. If anyone is able to volunteer a little time to help with watering over the summer months, it would be hugely appreciated.

We’re deeply saddened by the recent news surrounding a funeral director under police investigation. At such a difficult time, we want to reassure our community that most funeral professionals carry out their work with care, dignity, and respect.

As members of the SAIF: The National Association of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors, we follow a strict code of practice and are independently inspected.

We believe stronger, mandatory regulation is needed across the industry, as seen in Scotland, to help protect families and maintain trust.

Our thoughts are with all those affected, especially the families involved. This is truly heartbreaking and should never happen.

Thank you Brian Ellis from ASHTON VILLAGE SAVER for helping us put our letter box outside of the funeral home Herbert Murray Funeral Directors.

The white letterbox is for anybody who wishes to send a message to a loved one. This is for us all in the community, we truly hope it reaches out to our amazing community for those times when we miss our loved ones, and for when we need to tell them that we love them.

Ashton on Mersey Village Always in Bloom has changed its name💐

Welcome to our new page, this group will now be used to share with all of the community the exciting changes that will be happening in Ashton On Mersey Village. All the traders have come together and have lots of positive ideas for improving our beautiful village.

If anybody has any ideas that they would like to share with us all about how they would like to improve the village please do share.

We would love to ask if anybody from the community would like to be involved, we are looking for volunteers, if you have a spare hour or a spare half or full day a month we would be so grateful.

Keep your eye out for the changes, they will start subtle and will grow from there.

We are an amazing diverse community, if anybody has any strengths and skills that they can share please let us know, we really look forward to hearing from you.

We, of course, are sadly not able to deal with the bigger council issues.
