We provide 121 support within the community & at our Skills & Play Centres within North, South Ayrshire & Lanarkshire.

🌈 Happy Playday 2026! 🌈

Today we're celebrating the power of play and the incredible difference it makes in the lives of children and young people.

This year's Playday theme, "Here, There and Everywhere," reminds us that meaningful play doesn't need expensive toys or special events. It can happen at home, in our centres, in local parks, in schools, or out in the community. What matters most is creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where every child feels free to explore, imagine and have fun.

Today, we're celebrating every smile, every adventure, every achievement and every child who reminds us why play matters.

🌈 Tomorrow is Playday 2026! 🌈

As we count down to the UK's national day for play, we're looking back at a fantastic day spent making memories at the fair and enjoying time together in the park. 🎡🌳

Days like these are filled with laughter, adventure and opportunities to build confidence, friendships and new experiences. But one of the wonderful things about play is that it doesn't have to happen on a special outing. Whether it's at home, in the garden, at the local park or on the walk to school, every playful moment helps children learn, grow and thrive.

Tomorrow, we'll be celebrating Playday 2026 and the importance of making space for play here, there and everywhere.

🌈 Playday is almost here! 🌈

This Wednesday, 5th August, we'll be celebrating Playday 2026 - the UK's national day for play! 💙 This year's theme, "Here, There and Everywhere," reminds us that play doesn't have to be expensive or planned. Some of the best adventures happen in the everyday moments; building dens in the living room, exploring the local park, drawing with chalk on the pavement, splashing in puddles, or letting imaginations run wild.

At KO-NEKT, we know that play is so much more than fun. It's how children build confidence, develop friendships, strengthen communication skills, and explore the world around them. Every child deserves opportunities to play in ways that are meaningful, inclusive, and accessible.

We recently enjoyed a group art activity that was open to everyone, giving each person the chance to express themselves in their own way. With paints, pens, pencils, crayons and more available, everyone was free to choose the materials
they preferred and create using words, colours, patterns or simple mark-making.

The activity focused on teamwork, inclusion, creativity, confidence building, fine motor skills and coordination, while also encouraging conversations about wellbeing and feelings. It was lovely to see everyone supporting one another and working together to create a shared display.

One of our young people chose the words important and strong, decorating them with colourful patterns. He also suggested placing them at the top of the display so the younger children could create the lower sections, explaining that they might not be able to reach as high. A thoughtful gesture that showed kindness, teamwork and consideration for others.

We're delighted to be part of the Summer Funday at Hayocks Hall, Stevenson, today from 12pm–4pm!

There are loads of free activities for the whole family, including:
🎨 Making bird feeders
🍓 Fruit kebabs
🏃 Bungee run
🏄 Surf simulator
⚽ Sports activities
🎈 And much more!

We’re delighted to announce that KO‑NEKT is now officially approved to deliver ASDAN qualifications for children, young people and adults.

ASDAN programmes are designed to build confidence, independence and practical life skills. They’re flexible and accessible, supporting people with various support needs — including mental health challenges, disabilities, caring responsibilities, disengagement from school, and families needing learning that fits around childcare. ASDAN recognises every achievement and helps learners progress at their own pace in a way that truly reflects their strengths.

This accreditation allows us to offer meaningful, person‑centred learning pathways for all ages across our community.

There was only one place to visit for someone who loves fire engines! 🚒❤️

We headed to the Museum of Fire Brigade Heritage in Edinburgh, where one of our service users had a fantastic time exploring the engines, learning about the history of the fire service and getting up close to some incredible vehicles. A brilliant day out spent enjoying one of their favourite interests! 😊

Our Teen Summer of Community in Ayr continued with an exciting visit to the local fire station! 🚒🔥 The group had a fantastic time exploring the station, learning about the different equipment and vehicles, climbing aboard a fire engine, and even having a go at spraying the fire hose. It was a brilliant opportunity to learn more about the important work our firefighters do while building confidence, asking questions, and having lots of fun together. A huge thank you to the team at the fire station for making us feel so welcome! 💙
