We had a wonderful time last week at The National Funeral Exhibition National Association of Funeral Directors

It was great to catch up with our Cardboard Coffin Suppliers, Parley Green whose coffins are sustainably made locally in Dorset.

Meet Monty and Poppy from Mortons Funeral Hire's very fine fleet.
“Monty” is a fully restored 1 Tonne Land Rover 101 (Forward Control) hearse that started life in 1975 in the military and was attached to The Royal Marines in Devon and used as a troop and supplies carrier.
Meanwhile “Poppy,” is a 1984 Land Rover 110 limousine for eight passengers, ready willing and able to follow Monty in the cortege.

Looking for a really meaningful Father's Day gift for 21 June? Love Keep Create - The Clothing Keepsake Company makes bespoke and beautiful keepsakes from treasured items of clothing, such as memory bears, blankets, cushions and more. Their aim is to create sentimental items from clothing that would otherwise be thrown away, or stored in a cupboard. People take great comfort in these memory animals and blankets, and in many cases they act as a transitional object. Each piece of clothing tells a story.
Memory bears can be created from as little as one adult shirt, up to something as big as a king-size blanket which can use many pieces of clothing. They take a great deal of care to ensure that all of the keepsakes are made to the highest standard, and go out of their way to accommodate special requests wherever possible.

We’re honoured to be recognised by The Natural Death Centre Charity as a recommended funeral director. For us, this recognition reflects the values we hold close: openness, flexibility, and care shaped around each family’s needs. Here’s how we uphold those values every day:
We have agreed to the following criteria:
• To be flexible with the public and provide the service they request.
• To state clearly what our services entail, including a clear breakdown of costs for each part.
• To provide a very basic disposal service if requested.
• To provide information regarding all disposal options to all clients.
• To assist families who only want a part service, and not to make this difficult by offering 'packages only'.
• To inform customers that they can send feedback about the services provided to The Natural Death Centre.
• To explain that embalming is optional - and also explain what embalming entails.
• To inform families that they may like to help with some aspects such as washing and dressing the person who has died, or carrying the coffin.
• To state clearly if they are a member of a larger 'group'.
• To inform families whether the person who has died is being kept at another facility.
• To provide families with options for other types of celebrant beyond simply a minister or a humanist.
• To meet and make arrangements at the family home at no extra charge.

Did you know we have a digital Memory Wall?
It’s a dedicated space where you can share a tribute, a message, or a cherished memory of someone special. Many families tell us they find comfort in seeing their loved one’s name and story held within a community of remembrance.
If you’d like to add your own dedication, you can do so here:
