How to relieve lower back pain

Anterior pelvic tilt can be a linked to symptoms of lower back pain when understanding how our bodyweight shifts and causes compression of the muscles and surrounding structures of the lower back.

Here’s a way you can help decompress the lower back and get the muscles of the core, hips and hamstrings to work on pelvic control.

Small Group Rehab Class 💪🏼

Here's a perfect example of how our classes are designed for the individual who needs support but wants the community around exercise and rehab.

Here you see Leanne, who's currently rehabbing arthritic knee pain that's getting in the way of mobility and also being able to exercise her lower body in the gym. We've been focusing on building stability and mobility around the knees, the hips, and the ankles, which allow her to then move more with less pain.

We also have Jen, who is rehabbing her shoulder after coming off a bike at high speed. She's been developing strength and mobility after a period of time away to allow the injured site to recover. After screening for ultrasound, we found out there's no major tears or damage to the tendons, which means we can then push forward with a rehab and exercise.

Same Process, Different Goals 💪🏼

If you have any pain or discomfort that's stopping you from exercising, drop us a message and let's have a chat and see how we can get you back on track as quickly as possible!

Have a great weekend all!

Most people who aren't seeing progress aren't lazy. They're busy, they're trying, and they're showing up when they can.

The problem usually isn't effort. Its intention.

Training without a plan is just movement. And movement is great, but if you want to actually get stronger, recover from an injury, be more flexible, lose weight, or just feel better in your body, movement alone won't get you there.

The same goes for recovery. Most people treat it as optional, a nice to do, something they'll get to when life quietens down.

But life doesn't quieten down. Work, family, commitments, it all keeps coming. And when recovery gets pushed to the bottom of the list, the body starts keeping score. Sleep suffers. Soreness lingers. Motivation drops. Progress stalls.

Intentional training means knowing why you're doing each session, not just doing it. Intentional recovery means treating sleep, nutrition, mobility, time away from tech, sitting and relaxing and minimising stress as part of the programme. Not afterthoughts.

When those two things align, that's when things start to shift.

If you're feeling stuck at the moment, whether that's physically, mentally, or just not quite knowing where to start, we're here to help.

At The Recovery & Performance Hub, we now offer so much more to make sure health and fitness is accessible to all:

- 1-2-1 Sessions (Sport and physio-therapy, personal training, massage, mobility training)

- Group sessions and classes (Yoga, ladies' only strength, rehab, kettlebell, longevity)
Private spa sessions (available to book on solo or private hire for friends/teammates)

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to drop me a message and let's chat!

Have an awesome day!

How to stop your lower back tightness for good 💪🏼

You use a sauna to relax, right?

Nothing beats booking time away for yourself, turning up looking forward to getting into a sauna, feeling the heat hit your face, minimal lighting, eucalyptus scent filling your lungs, and just melting into the bench with a relieving sigh.

And then...

A group of loud lads pile into the sauna, excited to enjoy the benefits of the sauna. Rightly so!

But they start talking loudly, bantering, huffing and puffing because "it's too hot", moaning how boring it is and "the owners should get a TV in here".

All whilst you are sitting there, eyes closed, feeling your blood boiling (and that's not from the sauna heat, it's the frustration of you cannot now relax).

And you eventually leave feeling more frustrated, angry, or upset because the time you actually managed to take for yourself to relax, to finally switch off from the stressors of work, life, and family, has been wasted in your eyes.

What if there were an option for private sauna use?

That you could venture off on your own, bring 1, 2 or 3 friends, and you can all enjoy the benefits of spa use privately.

Well, there is now! :)

With our new private spa area, you can book individually or privately hire (2's or 4's)

Meaning you can actually switch off in peace and truly feel relaxed and refreshed.

If you are looking for more time to relax and recover, click the link below to check out our spa use (for 1-2 people).
