You’re not injury prone

You’re just underprepared - and I’m not taking age as an excuse!

You just need a holistic plan that serves your goals and that can only be achieved by understanding your hold backs, time constraints, goals and current abilities.

If you’re looking for a way forward with less pain or injury and more strength, mobility and confidence drop me a message and let’s chat.

If I’m not the right fit, I’m sure one of my amazing colleagues here at the hub is 💪🏼

Forefront running isn’t bad for you…

But it could be contributing to pain or discomfort in your foot and ankle post injury.

This is the case for my client Cal who is recovering from a 5th metatarsal fracture (outside bone of the foot).

After spending 6 weeks in a boot and then building is running up everything was mostly fine however he could feel discomfort still and then he played 90mins of football last week.

Check out his running gait you can see he’s a forefront runner - this puts more load onto the foot and calf before the leg gets under us meaning even though that fracture has mostly healed it doesn’t mean the load capacity is there.

My cue of reducing the sound of hitting the ground alters his landing to more of a midfoot stance and he could instantly feel relief.

This cue alongside foot and ankle strengthening should see him return to running and football pain-free in no time!

If you’re struggling with ankle or foot pain from running or football, drop us a message and let’s have a chat!

Injury rehabilitation with intention 💪🏼

Recovering from injury should have a goal with progressive loading in place to create adaption.

Whether that is building strength, stability, mobility or flexibility.

A lot of guidance online, via Ai or even by NHS physios (in my experience) don’t counter this in as it’s normally general outdated advice.

Our plans are built specific to your needs, availability, current tolerances and what goals you want to achieve.

You then have the option to follow this at home on your own (if you’re able and motivated to)

Or you can come follow it here with us and get expert coaching, adjustments and support to help you get back to doing what you love doing. Quickly.

Get all the benefits of 1-2-1 coaching but in a small group to socialise, build friendships and win together.

Sessions are run on Tuesday 12pm and Friday 6:30pm with Rory Finch and Wednesday evenings with Personal Trainer | Sports Therapist | S&C Coach 💪🏼

Drop us a message if you’re interested in leaning more and let’s chat!

Have an awesome week ahead!

"Motion is lotion"

"Movement is medicine"

"Motion is the potion"

I love these sayings! And they are right, we are Made To Move - get it? 😏

In most cases, return from pain or injury is going to have a focus on improving mobility, movement quality and eventually sport or activity-specific tasks/skills.

Initial rest is important, but too much rest can reduce load tolerance, tissue loses the capacity to store or produce strength or power and can increase pain/injury risk in the future.

So our advice for the weekend and moving forward, take one of these mantras, and when things are getting tough, repeat this in your mind, have it written down, move baby move!

Of course, if you are in pain or injured, seek advice from us by messaging us privately or contacting your physio/sports therapist for specific advice.

Have an awesome day!

Recovery isn't what most people think it is

It's not just foam rolling for ten minutes after a session and calling it done.

Real recovery is intentional. It's planned. And it looks completely different from one person to the next.

Some people need stillness. Some need to move gently. Some need a cold plunge and a long walk. Some honestly need a beer, a lie in, and a swim in a lake or river (like me!)

We are not robots.

We are not built to go hard every single day. And the people who last longest in sport, in training, and in life are the ones who know when to ease off as much as when to push on.

Slow down to speed up. Rest so you can perform. Recover so you can keep going.

And if you need somewhere to do it properly, our private spa suite is waiting for you 💫

What's your go to rest and recover modaility? Let us know in the comments below!

We’re back this Sunday for our monthly social walk!

We've had a couple of months off since our last venture to Snowdon due to being busy refurbishing the hub! So now it's time to get outdoors and word on the streets it's going to be blue skies and up to 25 degrees 🤩

This takes us to 32/95 of the Ethels (hills over 400m above sea level) located in the beautiful Peak District

We're heading to Durham Edge and Burton Bole over a 10km circular route with around 190 metres of elevation. Nothing extreme, nothing technical, just a genuinely good walk through some of the best scenery South Yorkshire has on its doorstep.

No phones. No deadlines. No inbox. Just fresh air, good company, and the kind of conversation that only happens when you're moving and in the outdoors!

We've had a couple of months off since our last venture to Snowdon due to being busy refurbishing the hub! So now its time to get outdoors and word on the streets it's going to be blue skies and up to 25 degrees 🤩
