We are delighted to introduce Paula, who joins Expectancy Scanning Studios as our Gynaecology & Fertility Service Development Lead and Sessional Sonographer.

Paula brings with her a wealth of experience within the ultrasound profession, having dedicated many years to delivering exceptional care across gynaecology and fertility services. Her knowledge, passion and commitment to excellence make her a fantastic addition to our growing team.

In her new role, Paula will lead the development and expansion of our gynaecology and fertility services, helping us continue to provide outstanding, patient-centred care. She will also work closely with the NHS and other healthcare organisations to strengthen collaborative working and ensure our services continue to evolve to meet the needs of our patients.

You’ll also see Paula in clinic performing ultrasound scans, where her compassionate approach and extensive expertise will help make every patient feel supported, informed and cared for.

We are delighted to announce that our experienced Midwife Sonographer, Charlotte K, has taken on the important role of Mental Health Link Lead at Expectancy Scanning Studios. 💛

Charlotte will play a key role in supporting our continued commitment to recognising the importance of mental health throughout pregnancy and beyond, ensuring that emotional wellbeing remains at the heart of the care we provide.

As part of this role, Charlotte will help strengthen our links with multidisciplinary teams, NHS services, and external support agencies, ensuring we continue to work collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, and holistic care for our patients.

This new role supports our ongoing commitment to meeting CQC expectations and guidelines, promoting a culture where every patient feels listened to, supported, and cared for throughout their journey with us.

Pregnancy After loss 🌈

Often referred to as a rainbow pregnancy, referring to a baby following a miscarriage, ectopic or molar pregnancy, TFMR, stillbirth, or infant loss, and represents hope, joy and light after a storm. 🌈

However we understand even considering a pregnancy again is difficult and for some this journey may not be the right one at the moment. 🤍

And the rainbow journey is often a difficult journey in many ways.

🤍 Worries around health following a loss. Healing physically.
🤍 Difficulty conceiving, fertility concerns.
🤍 Recurrent miscarriage
🤍 Stress and worry that it will happen again. Mixed emotions of joy, guilt and fear.
🤍 Mental health

With published research today from The miscarriage Association (link in comments) revealing sadly a quarter of women report they lacked care following their loss, we need change and to break the stigma around loss.

We understand this month may be a difficult month for many, particularly with Mother’s Day approaching.

Please reach out. Family, friends, health professionals and support groups and networks.
