The latest BAAPS audit figures show blepharoplasty has risen by around 8%. For men, eyelid surgery is now one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures in the country.

The eyes are one of the most expressive features of the face, and hooded lids or under-eye bags can give a tired appearance that simply doesn't reflect how you feel. Unlike many non-surgical treatments, blepharoplasty physically removes excess skin and repositions fat deposits, producing a result that is both more significant and longer-lasting.

Mr Nigel Horlock takes a careful, patient-focused approach to eyelid surgery, tailoring every treatment plan to the individual.

Spring often brings a renewed focus on feeling confident and comfortable, and current plastic surgery trends reflect this. There is a growing demand for body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty, particularly among patients who have experienced significant weight loss through diet, exercise, or medications like GLP-1 agonists. At the same time, many are opting for smaller, more natural breast implants to achieve balanced, proportionate results.

Choosing a qualified, experienced surgeon is key to ensuring outcomes are tailored to your individual goals and anatomy.

The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and other specialist bodies are strongly cautioning against the use of breast fillers, particularly in patients who require ongoing breast monitoring.

Non-surgical, high-volume injectable breast fillers are sometimes offered as a quick alternative to traditional breast augmentation, but they can make it difficult to detect breast cancer on imaging, and they carry a risk of complications.

Many people in their 60s choose procedures such as facelift or eyelid surgery to refresh their appearance while maintaining natural features. With modern techniques, surgery can help restore definition and reduce signs of ageing without looking overdone.

Research also suggests that age alone is not the most important factor when considering cosmetic surgery. Overall health and suitability for the procedure are far more important in determining safety and outcomes.
