Since losing my baby weight postpartum, everyone is keen to know 'but, do you like, have treats now?'... OH HELL YEAH 🤣 I'm too embarrassed to confess how many actually but the husband and girlies know I'm in the depth of sweet goodness 🤣

Now, I'm not saying you can out train a bad diet, but you absolutely CAN have cake and still get results, it just might be a few days delayed but it's worth it right 🤣 Balance!?

📢 Image Geek is 12 years old!! 🥳🎉

🥹Memory lane...
19 year old me started fitness classes in community centres in Durham and Newcastle

21 year old me signed a lease on a unit in Durham which FLOURISH (until I was 28). Wow, what memories we have within them unit walls! 💪🤣 One word... EPIC.

25 year old me decided to further study in level 4 nutrition AND food intolerance testing which I did alongside the gym to help my clients even further.

When the physical gym doors shut August 2022, we ended on a HIGH which is the best way for any business to do 🥳🥂 how many people pass me still to the day and tell me all the positive happy memories they have from there and the friendships they have made... Image Geek Community was and is a FORCE 💚

Since 2022, 28 year old me redirected Image Geek to narrowly focus on and build its reputation for solely food intolerances, specialist in diabetes and online personal training. I work with NHS diabetic patients, I have food intolerance clinics as far as Portsmouth (I can help people across the whole of the UK if you aren't local to me!), I have been recognised and worked with some BIG names, and my online personal training is going strength to strength, true accountability and clarity!

TODAY, 31 year old me still continues everything since 2022, but a full circle moment, it's been confirmed just this afternoon, I will be a freelance tutor for Active IQ fitness courses (L2/3/4). This is exactly who I did all my qualifications with when I was 18 and 19 🥹 I can't wait to help students set up in this industry!

Well, that was emotional and the era 21-28, seems like another life! How did little old me actually do it!? What incredible memories.

7 months post partum and C-section recovery... And this mama got out! 🎉 LBD, heels and a cheeky cider 🍻 for a whole 2 hours! 👀🙌💪🤣

One of my most common questions before someone joins my online coaching programme 'I can still go out, right?' or 'i can still have a life?' 🤣

Look. I'll be real.
1. If you are currently a regular party person, if it continues you stay as you are.. which you obviously aren't 100% happy about otherwise you wouldn't be wanting to have coaching with me. SO... If you're willing to compromise, meet me half way, make changes to what you're drinking and the volume of it, but can still go out a lot, then yes, you're all good and we can work together towards your goals, absolutely! 🤝 👊 💪

2. Or, if you aren't a regular party goer, then that one off really is relaxed and you're 'free' to go full belt! However, you will have the knowledge by then to make the better choices while still having a mint time! So best of both 🍕 🍷 💪🙌

I'll put it bluntly, but always said with a sprinkle of love... you don't owe yourself a 2 day break every 5 days 🤭🤯

So many people tell me 'i can Monday to Friday, but not on a weekend, I want to rest more' 'i lay in on Saturdays ' 'i turn my alarm off on weekends ' or I also have the flip side 'ill make more time on a weekend to eat better as I have more time, I just want quick and convenient through the week's

It's 2026 and people are still wondering why they are on a yo-yo cycle with their weight journey. I can guarantee, it'll come down to your foundations you're trying to build your results on... And if the foundations are inconsistent, that'll hinder your progress!

But seriously, why is it important to keep routine?

Diabetics: regular and consistent meal times help regulate blood sugar levels and stabilise them throughout the day, reducing the risk of spikes or crashes. It also helps regulate insulin sensitivity and that is important to manage diabetes effectively. All these positives help you manage your condition better and improve your quality of life. Consistently is key, keep routine. Routine keeps the blood obey ✅🙌.

Gut health/inflammation: eating stimulates the digestive system which can lead to over responding if eating regularly, the 'little and often' saying is NOT the advice someone with gut health problems needs! Focus on 3 balanced meals (eat fibre foods first off plate, followed by protein then finish with carbs. 🍽️) followed by a glass of water. Routine keeps gut glowing ✨

Weight loss: if you're eating in a consistent pattern, it can contribute to better health outcomes such as weight loss, prevent weight gain and build a better relationship with food. 🫪🙃🫠🥳 Routine keeps progress on track.

Just to name a few reasons why being consistent with meal times, for more than 5 days, will help you!

My top 3 justifications on why you are bingeing on an evening, even after eating well and exercising throughout the day...

1. Stress. Be in work related, home related, relationship related. It can even beat a minor situation when driving for example, road rage, leading to overthinking the situation/it playing on your mind the following few hours.When your blood starts to boil, your emotions heighten which in turn, switches on 'i need a convenient comfort food, now' and 99% convenient and comfort foods are high fat and high sugar.
To resolve this... You need to find a method you turn to when you feel stressed... A walk? Listen to your favourite music or podcast? Reading? Something that switches your mind away from what is causing the cortisol to heighten.

2. Your meals aren't actually as balanced as you think. You're having a beige meal. You're focusing more on carbohydrates than protein, healthy fats and fibre. All these will spike your blood glucose, boosting the bodies sweet tooth sugar cravings.
To resolve this....meal plan ahead. Track what you're having. And if eating food out, make wiser choices. Protein, fats and fibre are macronutrients too, don't forget them!

3. Your evening routine consists of habits you need to unteach yourself to make. Don't buy the bottle of wine on your way home on Fridays. Don't eat more than 2 biscuits with your cuppa, put them away. Don't buy in and fill a 'treats cupboard', just buy 1 treat.
Prep some protein balls or flapjacks for when you do fancy something sweet.

VITAMIN D ... It really is an elite level mood booster right!? SAD be gone 💥 👋

So many of us work so hard for a week or two break in the sun, just to be away from our environment, but actually, that break has so many more benefits to it!

✅Vitamin D from sunlight supports calcium absorption better (so better, stronger bones and teeth 🦴🪥)!

✅ It also helps strengthen our immune system, improves muscle function and regulates hormones.

✅For those who are a diabetic, vitamin D also plays such an important role in reducing insulin resistance (key with type 2 diabetes!)
