Isaac’s family would like to share the details of his funeral service with everyone who knew and loved him.

The funeral service will take place at Worthing Crematorium at 3.00pm on Friday 4th September. The service will be open to all, and everyone who knew and loved Isaac will be very welcome to attend.

Following the service, Isaac’s family and friends will gather at Steyning Cricket Club from 4.30pm until late, where everyone is invited to come together, share memories and celebrate Isaac’s life.

All are welcome to join them.

For generations, Chalcrafts has had the privilege of serving local families at some of the most difficult times in their lives. Our reputation has been built over many years on trust, compassion and the personal care we provide to every family we support.

Recent events in Hull have understandably raised concerns about the standards families should expect from a funeral director and we cannot begin to imagine the distress this has caused to the families impacted by these events.

As a long-established independent funeral director, we are proud to be members of the National Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF). Our membership reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional care. We are regularly inspected and voluntarily regulated under the UK Funeral Director Code, and families also have access to an independent complaints process through SAIF, delivered by an externally audited, Chartered Trading Standards Institute-certified body.

For us, caring for the people entrusted to us is not simply a profession, it is a personal responsibility that our community has trusted us with for many years. We want to give our reassurance that every person in our care is treated with dignity, respect and compassion, and every family can be confident that they will continue to receive the same dedicated support that has been at the heart of Chalcrafts for generations.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Dorothy Sowerby passed away on 30th December 2025.

A much-loved mum to Eric and Colin , we know Dorothy will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Her funeral will take place at Worthing Crematorium on Wednesday 28th January at 11.30am, followed by a coming together at Steyning Cricket Club.

All who knew Dorothy are welcome to attend and join us in celebrating her life.
