🦺 Mental Health in Construction: It’s Not Always Who You Think
When people look at this picture, most immediately point to the worker on the left as the one who needs support. He looks tired, withdrawn, maybe weighed down.
But here’s the truth we see every day in training:
👉 The person who looks absolutely fine can be the one struggling the most.
👉 The smile, the banter, the “I’m alright mate” can be the mask.
👉 And in construction, masking is common — because the culture often rewards silence over vulnerability.
This is exactly why we’re expanding our mental health and wellbeing training offer at Forthwright Training.
Our newest course — Introduction to Mental Health Awareness for Construction — is built specifically for the realities of the construction industry.
It maps directly to the CITB Mental Health Awareness Standard and helps teams recognise the signs that aren’t obvious.
Because mental health support shouldn’t rely on guesswork.
And it shouldn’t wait until someone is visibly struggling.
If you want to strengthen your team’s awareness, confidence and culture, we’re here to help.
