Macoby Clinical Canine Massage & Canine Exercise Rehab by Kim Rufus RVN

Macoby Clinical Canine Massage & Canine Exercise Rehab by Kim Rufus RVN As a therapist I not only address your dogs muscles I also look at your dogs gait, posture & daily activities formulating a home care plan.

Kim is a Shropshire based Registered Vet Nurse, accredited Clinical Canine Massage Therapist, Certified Canine Mobility Nurse/Therapist & Certified Canine Exercise Rehab Therapist Canine Massage is a safe form of complementary therapy achieving results in as little as 1-3 sessions working alongside your Veterinary Surgeon for the best possible outcome. Massage can help to treat a variety of condit

ions ranging from soft tissue such as sprains/strains to orthopaedic issues such as elbow or hip dysplasia addressing tight sore muscles, tension, trigger points & myofascial pain. I find that this therapy is especially useful for dogs with arthritis as it helps to provide hands on natural pain relief & improving quality of life as part of a multi modal approach. Your dog does not need to be injured to benefit though as massage is great for keeping them in peak condition helping to detect any areas of discomfort before they become a problem. Kim also has an interest in nutrition, oncology & senior care. She is also a fully trained pet first aid instructor offering day courses.

It's a bit warm again today..........🥵
Just doing my Blue Cross shift & thought I would check the weather this week as this Bank Holiday weekend has been a warm one.......

Seeing as it's going to stay nice then I will be re scheduling my appointments this week to earlier in the morning or post postponing in the interests of comfort for your dog

Please remember to walk your dogs either early morning or later in the day when it's a lot cooler & keep them hydrated/cool through the day, remember no dogs die from not being walked 🐶

Some news to share with you all 🙂🐶

I have been busy behind the scenes completing CPD that I feel would be helpful to my work as both a Vet Nurse & rehab therapist.......
With that in mind I am pleased to say I have passed the exam to become a Canine Arthritis Management Vet Practitioner!

New services coming soon to Macoby so watch this space 🐶

I was just thinking that I have not shared any clients photos recently so with that in mind let me introduce you to Margot ❤

This lovely girl is a newbie to Macoby & had her first visit yesterday. Initially she was a little nervous but that's ok I just took my time & plenty of snacks given to gain her trust.......

Margot is displaying an abnormality regarding her left hind, x-rays didn't show anything......after a careful check up which included gait analysis, posture analysis & full muscular check I just need to check a few things with her Vet then hopefully we can start her rehab journey 🙏
In the meantime we also discussed some simple home modifications to make things a little easier for her such as runners on slippy flooring, ramp for the step into the garden & raising her food/water 🙂

This photo was taken a few years ago now but boy did Mak teach me things from being my study buddy for massage through to pain management, oncology & nutrition, it truly was an honour & a blessing having him in my life & to be his Mom....

He may not be here in the physical anymore but this was the sign I needed to keep pushing forward!!! I've got this!! ❤🐶
