We're pleased to share that we have some exciting new Supported Internship opportunities for young people with learning disabilities!

We have a range of opportunities available in sectors like:

🩵 Catering
🩷 Hospitality
🩵 Retail
🩷 Customer Service

These opportunities will provide excellent hands-on experience, with dedicated job coaches offering on-site support to help build confidence and skills at the intern's own pace. By working as a supported intern, young people will build important transferable skills like teamwork, time management, and customer service, which every employer wants to see.

Supported Internships aim to provide young people with skills for life and help them secure employment they genuinely enjoy, where they can thrive and support the community in a meaningful way.

What an incredible weekend for our students who took part in the 2026 Jubilee Challenge on Dartmoor! 🥾

A huge well done to the 7 students who took part in the challenge, showing determination, resilience and huge team spirit throughout the weekend. From setting up camp to completing the walk, everyone has truly achieved something amazing.

We're so grateful to our brilliant staff who supported everyone along the way, including prepping base camp, the early starts, meal times and ongoing encouragement throughout!

There were so many memorable moments along the way, including some time in the military engagement village, the early-morning atmosphere of more than 600 people singing Sweet Caroline at 7:15 am, and, of course, the excellent applause as our students crossed the finish line to collect their medals. Memories for life have been made.

We'd like to say a special thank you to Dartmoor Preservation Association for kindly donating the jackets worn by the students on the walk. It was a really lovely gesture that kept everyone warm in those cold morning hours! 🌅

We had such a great time, and we are already looking forward to next year. Thank you to everyone who made it possible 🩵

And they're on the way!

We bid farewell to our Jubilee Challenge participants today, as they head off to camp to get set up and ready to tackle the challenge! Morale is high, and we are so proud! 🩷

The send-off today was made that extra bit special when students presented one of their tutors, James Humphries, with a medal in celebration of his 10th time participating in the challenge. What a brilliant achievement!

Best of luck to everyone taking part, and we cannot wait to hear and see how you get on! 🩷🥾🥳🩵

The 2026 Jubilee Challenge is quickly approaching! 🥾

We're incredibly proud of the efforts of our young people and all supporting staff as they get ready to head out on the Jubilee Challenge once again. We have no doubts that everyone will do absolutely brilliantly 🩷

We're pleased to share that bookings are now open for the Lifeworks May Half Term Holiday Programme! ✨

Running from Tuesday 26th May to Friday 29th May, the programme offers young people with a learning disability the change to enjoy a fun, varied and supported week of activities from 10am to 4pm each day!

Across the week, young people can look forward to trips and activities including:

🐯 Paignton Zoo
🏏 Cooking, picnic and rounders
🏖️ Goodrington Beach
⛲️ Dartington Hall and garden walk

Sessions are £80 for 1:4 support or £135 for 1:1 support. These fees are fully inclusive, so no hidden extras!

Ahead of our Jubilee Walk in May, we recently set our sights on practising so that we're prepared for the real thing!

Our Jubilee Challenge team went for a lovely practice walk. We ticked off a few key points, including Smallcombe Rocks , Hound Tor, and Holwell Tor. In total, we walked 7 miles in 3 hours 45 minutes (including our lunch break!), and navigated through some fog too!

We have very kindly been gifted some new jackets from the Moor Boots Grant by the Dartmoor Preservation Association, which the students were pleased to wear on the moor. A big thank you to the Dartmoor Preservation Association!

During Careers Week, Lifeworks students got a taste of life down with MVV Environment Devonport as we visited their incinerator!

This was such a brilliant trip, and the students loved seeing the bin lorries, the actual incinerator and had a great time learning about how it all works!

We picked up lots of great facts, and one that has really stuck is that 100 lorries arrive at the incinerator each day, and they create enough power to supply 37,000 homes - how incredible!

A huge thank you to Devonport for having us!
